Illegal immigrants arrested protesting at Capitol
The Washington Times ^ | November 20, 2013 | Stephen Dinan

Activists said that illegal immigrants were arrested while protesting outside of House Majority Leader Eric Cantor’s office on Wednesday in the latest escalation of civil disobedience designed to pressure Congress to legalize them.

In the morning, hundreds of immigrant-rights activists staged a vigil outside of House Speaker John A. Boehner’s home in Washington, setting up a Thanksgiving dinner table which they said highlighted illegal immigrants who are being deported and won’t be with their families during the holiday this year.

After the vigil, activists went to the Capitol complex where 11 of them — some U.S. citizens and some so-called Dreamers, or young illegal immigrants trying to gain full legal status — were arrested for civil disobedience.

One woman who spoke at the vigil outside Mr. Boehner’s house is here illegally and said she was trying to get her deportation halted.

“Next week is Thanksgiving, where families are reuniting to celebrate. Mine possibly will be separated tomorrow,” the women, Ana Canenguez, said in a statement issued by activists. “I don’t want to be separated from my children.”

Mr. Boehner’s office declined to comment on the protest.

Mr. Boehner last week seemed to close the door on chances for an immigration bill to pass this year when he said the House would work on its own timeline and would not enter into negotiations with the Senate, which has passed a single broad bill legalizing illegal immigrants and rewriting the legal immigration system.

Deport illegals.

Why are foreign nationals protesting our elected officials?

They should go home and petition their own government.

I don’t like being separated from the money taken in taxes out of my paycheck every week to support your criminal ass senora. You’re being deported? Great. Best news I’ve heard all day.

Considering how upset people are with Obama right now, the alien thugs are picking the absolute worst time to do this. I hope they keep it up. They are going to tick off a lot of people.

If Congress adopted them and the Executive branch enforced them our immigration problems would be solved.

I would think that could be considered a security risk to have a gathering of foreign nationals, whom are lawless, at Elected Officials homes/work.

I am sick of these people who flaunt our Laws and Sovereignty in our faces Every Day, and do it because they CAN without interference from the Fed Govt..

Who has our back? (we American citizens) Why don’t we have the RIGHT to a protected border? Why don’t we have the RIGHT to have our LAWS observed and obeyed? Why don’t we have the RIGHT given in the Equal Protection Clause, that ALL LAWS are to be applied Equally? Why don’t we have the RIGHT to our tax money spent wisely and not fraudulently?.....

I wonder how they like their new friends in La Raza.
We tried to tell them just like we tried to tell Rubio.
Dang these people are stupid.

The “dreamers” are subversive foreign criminals and deserve a long prison term. If they live so long they will then be deported.

Non-citizens are prohibited the ability to protest in Mexico.

Travel visas CAN be denied to non-resident protesters (like the anarachists who engage in criminal conspiracy to riot at gatherings like the G8 Summit).

Heck, bands can still be denied entry because of a decades old drug charge.

Correct.

The RIGHT to protest is a POLITICAL RIGHT that derives from citizenship.

Non-citizens may be PERMITTED to protest, granted the PRIVILEGE of protesting, but they have no inherent RIGHT.

I am not part of the Knitting club. Therefore, I have zip, zero, nada to say about how/why/where the knitting club operates.

Both the Supreme Court and Congress have made clear the Citizenship is a POLITICAL PRIVILEGE, ie a civil right.

Well, Ana Canenguez you can always take your kids with you. When my husband was transferred multiple times we ALWAYS took our kids with us even though (as they got older) they would’ve loved to have stayed. She should pretend it’s job transfer, not a deportation....even though I like deportation better ;>)

“Next week is Thanksgiving, where families are reuniting to celebrate. Mine possibly will be separated tomorrow,”

I’m working 16 hour shifts all that week, what about my family? Sorry Ms.illegal, I broke no laws, you did. Somehow I’m not feeling your pain.

It lights my fire every time I see an article regarding La Raza and this administration cooperating with them. They are flat out a subversive organization actively supporting taking American soil.
