George P. Bush files to run for Texas office

George P. Bush, a son of a governor and a nephew and grandson to U.S. presidents, has filed to run statewide in Texas, the latest member of the powerful political family to seek elected office.

Bush, 37, the son of former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and his Mexican-born wife, Columba, is seen by some as a transformative figure - a Hispanic candidate for a Republican Party that wants to appeal to the growing and increasingly influential electorate of Latino voters.

Bush filed on Tuesday to run for Texas Land Commissioner, a position which, among other duties, manages the Alamo in San Antonio - a symbol of the often contentious relationship between Mexicans and Anglos in Texas. The current land commissioner is running for lieutenant governor.

Oh, he’s “transformative” all right: pro-abortion, pro-homosexuality, the whole deal—but he speaks Spanish fluently, so he can be the voice of the GOP future.

I know what you are saying, but this Bush has not been tested on any positions. Best to give him a chance if he gets elected. Let us not forget that the Latino population will soon be a majority in the country.

We are still looking for the next Reagan. We know who does not fit the bill, we just do not know who does as of now.

No. It's a symbol of American resolve to unwavering resistance towards Mexican aggression.

As such, it represents Freedom for the Americans, as they would not have to end up as subjects of the Mexican despots.

Like the despot in training, whose principal claim to fame is his family name....and his brown skin.

Allegedly America did away with hereditary monarchy.

The GOP needs to get over its Hispanic Voter Myth nonsense...

If Illegal Alien Amnesty was going to get Hispanic votes...John McCain would have been elected President

And, isnt it odd that a half-Mexican Bush is considered Hispanic, but a half-Cuban Ted Cruz isn’t?

Let us not forget that the Latino population will soon be a majority in the country

Then it won't be the United States, we won't be free (how can you be "free" when a foreign populace simply invades and claims the right to rule you?), and the Americans should simply re-create a new government excluding the "Latinos" - who are simply citizens of Mexico in 95% of the cases.

The Constitution is not a suicide pact, and the 14th amendment did not legitimize invasion.

Your post is a farce.

That’s all the two crime families will continue to do - switch off forever in this non-benign monarchy. Other than the current illegal alien in office, there has been a Bush or Clinton in high office since 1980.

That’s because “Hispanic” for political purposes really means Mexican.
This is a euphemism.
Cubans are not Hispanic for political purposes. In California Salvadorans, Nicaraguans, etc aren’t Hispanic either.

So Latinos can't be Americans and "Americans" should form their own government and "exclude" the Latinos. 95% of Latinos are simply citizens of Mexico? Embarrassingly absurd all around. Did you actually think that made sense when you wrote it?

I don’t know if anyone realizes it, but George P Bush had a son this past June. you may want to get your condemnation in now, just in case he decides to run for some insignificant state office in 30 years.

Because, well, you know as much about the 4 month old’s political beliefs as you do his father’s . . . So, it would make as much sense.

Can’t really agree with that - being any ethnicity is neither a qualifier nor disqualifier for any office. Moreover, we should not be appealing to an electorate merely on the basis of race. Latinos, just like any voter block, must be taught our positions and have it explained to them why they are correct and in the best interests of the country. Doing otherwise is a disservice to them - and to the rest of us. Bush speaks fluent Spanish, like Marco Rubio and others - that could be an asset to reach more voters - however, what they are communicating to them is what is really important - not just speaking the words of the language.

Let's do a little thought experiment, RW.

Imagine that a your next door neighbor decides your house is awfully nice, and lacking the cash to buy it from you, decides to simply take up residence when you are gone on vacation.

He then begins to answer the door using your name; has a phone line installed using your name; and has all of his bills sent to your house...using your name.

Is he now you?

Or do you claim he stole your identity?

What if you try to throw him out, but he claims a right to remain in your house...because you didn't throw him out immediately, or prevent him from entering.

Again, is he now you?

There is no such thing as a "Latino" in Latin America. They refer to themselves by their various nationalities.

If that's true, then isn't somebody from Mexico....a Mexican?

Or a Salvadorean...from El Salvador?

I guarantee you these words mean things to them. Bullets fly because of it.

So what are YOU saying? That if the citizens of Mexico - who refer to THEMSELVES as Mexican - walk into the land of the Americans, you claim now that they are the Americans?

Is that right? The Americans are anyone who says they are?

Are they us now? Is the squatter in the house now the owner of the house?

The nonsense is coming from you, and it's part of the conditioning you've been through: there is no such thing as "Americans", there are only people of various nationalities living on dirt labeled "the United States".

You can find these exact statements from the Reconquista Propagandists - it's a deliberate push to delegitimize the American identity.

And you are their messenger. So what's your assertion - there's no such thing as an American? Just hyphenated people, whose principal loyalty and attachment is to their real nationality?

That's what I hear. And it's a legitimization of a deliberate invasion.

Texas has given us 2 Bush’s and 1 LBJ...

Texas and the rest of the U.S. are being intentionally flooded with tens of millions of illegals..

You can bet the rent, within about 20 years or so the lone star state with run yet another Bush for POTUS. By then his running mate will likely be an illegal alien for the illegal vote...And they’ll get elected.

a Hispanic candidate for a Republican Party...
********************************
So just because his MOM is Mexican, he’s now considered an hispanic?

Well... Guess it happens, since Obama is only about 20% black and he’s considered to be black.

I wouldn’t mind him holding an elected State office just because he’s a Bush. I DO mind because he’s a frikkin’ liberal like his dad Jeb Bush (who claims to be a Conservative), and is in favor of amnesty for illegals.

I am very sick of Kennedys, Bushs and every other political royal family, of which being a member *entitles* one to hold office & lord over us.

You want proof the voter is dumb as a box of rocks? What else would explain voting someone into the Senate because his daddy was a Senator...and so on.

The people in this country don’t want liberty and freedom, they want to be ruled and cared for. Thinking and personal responsibility are verboten.

I would like to second your facepalm. I sure hope kempster was being sarcastic, because Latinos are nowhere close to becoming the majority in this country. They might be a significant voting block (for Democrats), but whites still make up a significant majority. In fact, if whites voted for Republicans anywhere close to the way blacks vote for Democrats, the nation would almost certainly be solid red from coast to coast.

You’re right. 300+ million Americans and we can’t seem to find anyone who isn’t named Bush, Clinton, Kennedy, or Carter to lead us? Like these folks are somehow born with the skills to lead simply by virtue of their last names? We’ve got a zero (diplomatic) experience Kennedy now representing us before one of our most important allies, the Japanese. That’s typical in this day and age when all it takes to get elected is the right last name or connections to one of these powerful political families. This is not what America, aka the Land of the Free, was supposed to be!

Je$$e is a lying, race pimping scumbag, and I wanted to punch him when he said that at the Rats’ convention.

But I have since reached the point at which I realize that conservatives need to distance themselves from the GOPe. And it saddens me, as one who was a very vocal George W supporter in 2000 and 2004, to say that the Bush family is very much in and of the GOPe and needs to be avoided in political positions.
