Norman Gurley, 30, is facing drug-related charges in Lorain County, Ohio, despite the fact that state troopers did not actually find any drugs in his possession.

Ohio passed a law in 2012 making it a felony to alter a vehicle to add a secret compartment with the “intent” of using it to conceal drugs for trafficking.

I recall sometime in the early 1990’s when having a pager was reasonable suspicion for being a drug dealer.

Good luck to the DA in proving that ‘intent’ thing! LOL

How in the world do you prove intent?

“Just another way for cops to make money”

After reading the article and comments, it’s obvious that the cops made up the charges to cover their illegal activities. Hence, the cops are not on your side.

Yup. Every one of my cars has a hidden compartment with money hidden. You never know when you'll lose or forget your wallet, but need to buy gas to get home. My daughters learned this rule from me, keeping a stash of hidden cash in the car just in case it's needed.

I remember another case when a innocent man was convicted. He escaped. Later was proved innocent of the original crime but had to serve time for the escape.
