Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) warns sports stadiums are at risk from the "sea level rise effects of climate change," and that climate change specifically threatens hockey and skiing.
"We see significant sports facilities, the palaces of - of sport that are at risk from the storm, climate, sea-level rise effects of climate change," Sen. Whitehouse said today following a closed-door climate discussion with executives from the NFL, NHL and NBA.

Another great example of Democrat genius ... on a par with Hank Johnson worrying that additional troop deployments to Guam might cause the island to tip over and Sheila Jackson Lee asking if the Pathfinder robot had taken a photograph of the flag planted on Mars by Neil Armstrong in 1969.
Will Rhode Island tip over into the sea, too?
The rising of the sea level is the result of continuous tectonic movement
He should be worried about continental drift
Then they can have sea battles in them, like they did in the Roman Colisseum.
Soldier Field in Chi-Congo is in trouble then.
Gees! Another Senate DemonRat Looney - Toon!
Well when they have the NHL Winter Classic, no need to bring in water. It’ll be frozen already LOL.
I guess Mile-High stadium in Denver is at risk.......................
Could this finally mean the end of the Dallas Cowboys? Maybe?
He’s a Democrat. Maybe we expect too much...
super genius like Wylie E Coyote
Only a Democrat could be that stupid.
Give him a shiny object.
He’ll be distracted for hours. Then maybe he’ll go away.
“...following a closed-door climate discussion with executives from the NFL, NHL and NBA.”
Why are execs from sports leagues meeting with a senate loon from an insignificant state about something that only exists in the fevered imaginations of libtards and statists?
I suspect this is just cover for some kind of crony deal, where the sports stadiums get more tax money and the sports teams help make him and his cronies more popular with the voters.
Climate change is almost always cover for such deals.
I’m really in the wrong line of work. Of course, I coulnd’t spew this kind of pablum without a smirk the size of the Titanic spreading across my face, so it’s probably better I remain desk-bound, and not try to become a politician.
Finally, you found a new scam for Algore!
We must give up all of our freedoms and most of our money to stop continental drift!
The only thing that can help us now is to give large amounts of money to the Government!!!
Do it for the children.
Maybe they could make a PSA about how kids will suddenly be “eliminated” if they don't believe that chewing gum causes man-made continental drift.
Will they press the 1010 button?
That’s true. it would take only a very slight shifting of the plates beneath eastern New England to make Rhode Island disappear from the map altogether.
We would have to be told because most people wouldn’t know
Rhode Island has sports stadiums?
...where the 'stupid' lay heavily over the room like thick wool blankets on a cold winter night.
I don’t get the focus on sports stadiums. If sports stadiums are going to be under water because of “climate change,” won’t the whole freakin’ city be under water??? Isn’t that a bit more of an issue, if you assume this climate change BS is true?
Don’t tell them that: they’ll demand not only must we Stop Continental Drift, but we must work towards Re-Uniting Gondwanaland. . . .
I smell another taxpayer funded stadium bailout in the works. Job creation, right?
From "Darwin's Ghost," a modern rewrite of Darwin's Origin by Steve Jones ...
" ... the summit of Everest is formed of rocks made in a shallow sea."
It's on page 252.
Got me on a technicality.
High schools around Texas have more impressive stadiums
BTW that pic was taken before the seas rose.
"Hey you, Whitehouse ... ha ha, charade you are ..."
Soon it will be an aquarium
Including Sports Authority Field at Mile High?
Well!I guess there won’t be a need for any future stadiums.
You sir... with all due respect... are a lying idiot!
That went to the guy in the picture and not you.
Give a quiz
First question: How many hundreds of thousands of years ago were Texas and Oklahoma under water and how long did it take for the tropical seas to cover them?
The RI loon can leave off the meds if he will only realize it would take thousands of years for the ocean to encroach so much, and he will be long gone.
Where do these people come up with the craziness and how can anyone take them seriously?
Like this one in Allen?
In a few years, there will be a domed stadium in Frisco for the new practice facilities for the Dallas Cowboys. I believe it will hold up to 12,000 seats.
I don't think it's far fetched to predict that new stadia will be built in the Metroplex during the next 10 years.
BTW, I've seen two games at the Allen Stadium. Hard to believe that it's for high school football.
We’re set for the Olympics, we’ve got all the facilities in place.
Was MLB not invited? Or too smart to mess with this BS? LOL
As my Dad (RIP) used to say...nothing’s too good for the taxpayers.
Why do the Dallas Cowboys need a practice facility in Frisco?
please someone answer that
That is pretty amazing for a HS stadium
RI would be better of Electing Stewie Griffin as Senator.
Well, maybe the name Los Angeles Lakers will finally make sense!
I thought the only thing Rhode Island was famous for was their Chickens.
Post of the week!
When they moved from Minn, they should have changed the name to Pacifics, or similar...
Because Jerry found someone to pay for it.
And the Dodgers are STILL looking for trolleys to dodge.
