Iran nuclear deal: Saudi Arabia warns it will strike out on its own

Saudi Arabia claims they were kept in the dark by Western allies over Iran nuclear deal and says it will strike out on its own.

A senior advisor to the Saudi royal family has accused its Western allies of deceiving the oil rich kingdom in striking the nuclear accord with Iran and said Riyadh would follow an independent foreign policy.

Nawaf Obaid told a think tank meeting in London that Saudi Arabia was determined to pursue its own foreign and policy goals. Having in the past been reactive to events, the leading Sunni Muslim nation was determined to be pro-active in future.

Mr Obaid said that while Saudi Arabia knew that the US was talking directly to Iran through a channel in the Gulf state of Oman, Washington had not directly briefed its ally.

"We were lied to, things were hidden from us," he said. "The problem is not with the deal struck in Geneva but how it was done."

Does bombing the Iranian Embassy in Beruit count?

Hard to blame the Shiites for that one..

The next president, if we have one, is going to have a helluva mess to clean up after Ozero and Lurch. He or she will have to do an extended world wide “apology tour”.

“We were lied to, things were hidden from us,”

That is correct. He said if you want Iran not to be a nuclear power then YOU could keep Iran from being a nuclear power. Should have read HIS small print.

Welcome to our world.

Only thing missing is Kerry waving a document claiming “Peace in our time.”

Anyone that will have them and their oil and money. But not ours. It is one thing to be stupid and screw things up (our President). It is another to break things so bad they can't be fixed...excepts for the expenditure of many lives further down the line.

>>I’m curious...in whose arms is Saudi going to cuddle, if not Uncle Sam’s ?<<

FYI Saudi helped fund Pakistan’s nuclear program. I read an article that they already have nuclear capable missiles on Saudi soil. Further, Pakistan has set aside some nuclear warheads as payment for Saudi help. For political reasons, they are kept in Pakistan, but can be transferred on short notice to Saudi Arabia.

So in short, they can nuke Iran at will. They can cooperate with Israel. Or strike a deal with any other country that would rather make a friend of Saudi Arabia at the expense of Iran.

Saudi Arabia will look around for either some proxy or the western infidels to attack Iran on their behalf. They are too fat and lazy to fight a war themselves.

In fact, if Saudi Arabia were to experience a real war, it would cause such upheaval, it would likely topple the corrupt, top-heavy Saudi regime itself.

-——Does bombing the Iranian Embassy in Beruit count?-—

Yes but not as much as the dead nuclear scientists, the destruction wrought by Stuxnet, the explosions at Isfahan or the other military facility.

The Iranian nuc has been thwarted by clever and very effective sabotage of key elemental activities. The clandestine assault is more effective than bombs

Obama opted out but the rest of the coalition continues
