Experts: Immigration reform not enough to swing midterm elections

Republicans in the House who refuse to take on immigration reform don’t have much to fear from voters, according to a number of political experts. Despite public support for reform and the increase in Latino voters, this demographic has little clout in GOP-controlled districts.

“Immigration reform policy still ranks comparatively much lower in importance compared to the economy, job creation, the federal deficit, job and healthcare,” said Daniel Cox, research director at the Public Religion Research Institute, a nonprofit, nonpartisan research organization in Washington.

That’s because immigration reform still has relatively little support compared with more immediate concerns over the recovering economy, health care and the federal budget.

Despite public support for reform

"Public support", my ass. How about universal voter photo ID support?

It's if you do pass "reforms" that you have something to be worried about.

You are correct there is no support for this out of Dem’s who want scab voters and business that wants scab workers. The Pew polls shows 60% are opposed.

It was not long ago that opposition to amnesty (which is what this will be) was over 70%. I'm having a hard time believing that people are now suddenly for it, especially in this economy. I remember that some polling outfit (Pew, I believe) ginned up polling data to make the GOP think that people were hot for campaign finance reform, when in fact this was not the case. With the GOP being run by idiots, of course, they fell for the polling numbers and passed bad legislation. This appears to be a repeat in the making.

Yes, seems like only yesterday that to espouse closing the borders, enforcing existing immigration laws, strengthening the military, lowering taxes and promoting employment were slam dunk issues for a Republican candidate. I find it hard to believe that the public has done a 180 on these topics.

The heck with the fence.

I say we give a contract to a Chinese company and pay them to build a replica of The Great Wall of China, this replica stretching from the Pacific Coast border of California and Mexico all the way through to the Gulf of Mexico. And build it three times as tall as the original.

The polls ask people if they want "immigration reform". They think it means tightening or enforcing existing laws, so they say "yes". Then the pollsters turn around and make the bogus assumption that a majority want the laws changed.

The RINOs are in on the scam because they want to keep the conservative vote and still provide cheap labor for their puppetmasters.

How many adult white voters are there turning out in 2014 in Blake Farenthold’s half hispanic district?

Id guess at least 60 or 70%. It seems like Blake wants to impeach Holder and attack Obama instead of getting excited about amnesty.

According to the hispanderers Blake should worship Obama and pass amnesty immediately.

The Calfornia GOP Congressmen are there to provide 15-20 votes against amnesty. I dont think any of the American citizens in their district victimized by illegals want amnesty and to force the same fate on districts they might flee to.

Immigration reform isn't even close to a priority among the coveted Hispanic demographic which would ever vote GOP anyway.

It is a huge priority among the gimme portion of that demographic who will reflexively vote Democrat and want more free stuff.

There are only six days left congress will be in session.

Not enough time to deal with something so controversial as Immigration Reform.

Ironically, the best way for the GOP to gain Hispanic voters would be to stand firmly against amnesty.

Two separate polls of legal Hispanic voters indicate a 2-to-1 majority against amnesty.

And, upon reflection, doesn't that make sense? Legal Hispanics have either been U.S. citizens for generations or earned their citizenship by going about it the right way.

Consequently, just like the rest of us, they're not in favor of illegal invaders getting their citizenship as a gift.

COMMUNISM

IN THE U. S. A.

The first of a series on the Communist conspiracy and its influence in this country as a whole, on religion, on education, on labor and on our government

^^No Communist, no matter how many votes he should secure in a national election, could, even if he would, become President of the present government. When a Communist heads the govern- ment of the United States — and that day will come just as surely as the sun rises— the government will not he a capitalist government hut a Soviet government, and hehind this government will stand the Red army to enforce the dictatorship of the proletariat, ‘’

Sworn statement of WILLIAM Z. FOSTER

Head of the Communist Party in the United States

If you ever find yourself in open debate with a Communist the facts here given can be used to destroy his arguments completely and expose him as he is for all to see.

Every citizen owes himself and his family the truth about Com- munism because the world today is faced with a single choice: To go Communist or not to go Communist. Here are the facts.

1 . What is Com-munism? A system by which one small group seeks to rule the world.

2. Has any nation ever gone Communist in a free election?

No. 3. Then how do the Communists try to get control?

Legally or illegally, any way they can. Communism’s first big victory was through bloody revolution. Every one since has been by military conquest, or internal corruption, or the threat of these.

CONSPIRACY is the basic method of Communism in countries it is trying to capture.

IRON FORCE is the basic method of Communism in countries it has already captured.

1 2. What would happen to my insurance? The Communists would take it over.

34. Where are their headquarters in the United States, and who is in charge?

Headquarters are at 35 East Twelfth Street, New York City. Wil- liam Z. Foster, of 1040 Melton Avenue, New York City, has the title of “Chairman of the Communist Party of the United States,” but Foster is actually just a figurehead under control of foreign operatives unseen by and unknown to rank and file Communists.

55. What is the emblem of the Communist Party in the United States? The hammer and sickle.

36. What is the emblem of the Communist Party in the Soviet Union? The hammer and sickle.

57. What is the flag of the Communist Party in the United States? The red flag, the same as that of all Communist Parties of the world.

49. What kind of people become Communists?

The real center of power in Communism is within the professional classes.

Of course, a few poor people respond to the Communist claim that it is a “working class movement.”

But taken as a whole the Party depends for its strength on the sup- port it gets from teachers, preachers, actors, writers, union officials, doctors, lawyers, editors, businessmen, and even from millionaires.

This primary season has to be about drawing lines and targeting GOP-E that is willing to work with the communists and turning the primary into a referendum on communists and their fellow travelers in the GOP.

Naming names.

ANY GOP willing to work with communists needs to go.

Playing nice with the reds is no longer to be tolerated.

The whole RNC/GOP Washingtonian political class in DC needs to be decimated, this is revolution.

Lainos have little clout in GOP districts because they are Dims. Latinos are socialists. They came here from socialist countries and that is what they know and love. When their own third-world hell holes didn’t deliver the goods they expected, they came here to demand WE give it to them.

Of course it makes sense. It makes perfect sense. Which is exactly why the establishment faction of the Stupid Party ignores it.

Yeah, they will point to the Reagan amnesty of 1986 which was popular with the entire Latino community, including the legal portion. But they conveniently forget that was a carefully targeted amnesty which covered no more than two million people who met specific circumstances including being self-sufficient contributing taxpayers. It also included stepped up border enforcement and accelerated deportations for those who had no business being here, all provisions which were conveniently ignored.

Yeah, they will point to the Reagan amnesty of 1986 which was popular with the entire Latino community,

So popular that Republicans got a smaller percentage of the Hispanic vote in 1988 than they got in 1984...

There's no point in the GOP even mounting an appeal to the La Raza-type activist community. But they could firm up an important segment of the Hispanic vote by respecting the views and addressing the concerns of the established legal Hispanic voters.

Carving 5-to-10 pts out of the Democrats' Hispanic majority would be an important step forward.
