The one-year-old granddaughter of Hamas’s Gaza Prime Minister, Ismail Haniyeh, has died, The Associated Press (AP) reported Wednesday.
The girl was brought to Israel in grave condition last week, with a serious infection of the digestive tract which affected her nervous system. She was returned to Gaza a day later after Israeli doctors concluded they could not help her.
A statement from Haniyeh's office quoted by AP said the girl, named Amal, died at a children's hospital in Gaza.
Amal's father wrote on his Facebook page that she had suffered brain damage.
Haniyeh's office declined comment on the granddaughter's seeking treatment in Israel, but a family friend said the move had no political significance.

If the Israeli government were rational this child would have never existed because her monster of a grandfather would have been in the ground.

I cannot imagine losing my granddaughter. I pray for her and her family, but note there will be no peace in the Mideast until Arabs begin to love their children more than they hate the Jews.

Israeli hospitals treat people from Gaza when the patient cannot get the proper treatment in Gaza. I used to read the Jerusalem Post every day and Jerusalem hospitals and doctors treat ill patients from Gaza on an ongoing basis. This case was only publicized due to who the child was.

From a medical perspective, that makes no sense. I cannot imagine the Israeli physicians sending such a gravely ill child away from the hospital, or telling her parents that nothing could be done for her. They might not have been able to save her, but they had plenty of options that would have at least given her a fighting chance. That she was returned to Gaza suggests to me that her parents did not take the physicians' advice, and that political considerations were more important than medical ones.

I’m sure you’re right. They didn’t want the bigger publicity when she died that would make it clear to the world that Israel cares about saving lives, ( the Muslims know it), in contrast to themselves, the Jihadi Islamists, who live to kill and froth at the mouth in the hopes of maiming innocent people who don’t share their religion.
