Whether or not President Barack Obama will approve the Keystone XL pipeline or not, oil sand in Alberta will continue to be extracted, as the president recently gave the go ahead in a new cross-border pipeline benefiting Canadian oil producers.
The 1,900-mile proposed Cochin, Kinder Morgan pipeline, approved on Nov. 22, will transport natural gas liquids (NGL) produced from hydraulic fracturing in Texas, north through Illinois and eventually into Alberta. There is a demand for imports of condensate to use as a diluent for blending with heavy Canadian crude.
Extracting oil sands requires a lot of energy to break down the bitumen, which is a form of petroleum in solid or semi-solid form that is blended in clay, sand and water. To flow through a pipeline it needs diluent to help break down the solid form.

The “most transparent” corruption administration continues to bypass the always gullible RINO Speaker of the House, Boehner.

I thought it went through Nebraska? Maybe that was a different one.
Oh well, Nebraska, Illinois, they're all the same right??
I’ve got it! If the Keystone XL pipeline ran through Illinois, where it would potentially create jobs, Obama would be for it, not against it. Ever notice how the most dovish liberal congressman will support a Defense Department program, if it is based in his home district? It’s the same kind of thinking here.
Likewise, last spring when I drove through southern Illinois, I saw a few oil wells pumping near the Wabash River, but nobody in the federal government wants to shut them down.
It would appear that the prospect of selling American petro products to Canada trumps the sale of Canadian petro-products to the U.S.A. must be a NAFTA thing...better to pander to Berkshire-Hathaway than display evenhandedness. I sensed Obama was a slimeball and not our friend from the getgo.
He’s in favor of anything that lines his pockets and/or the pockets of the criminals who financed his takeover.
