As NewsBusters previously reported, HBO's Real Time this past Friday once again featured some truly disgusting attacks on the Pope, priests, and the Catholic Church. This has led the Catholic League to formally request HBO and Time Warner fire host Bill Maher and cancel the show.

And it is quite a shame that the folks at HBO do not take the Catholic League’s demand seriously.
It is as if HBO and Bill Maher do not care if American Catholics are offended by that show and all they care about is the money they make.
They do not even care that this Dan Savage fellow may be encouraging or even causing young American boys to become gay and Bill Maher with his anti Christian dribble can cause people to abandon their faith.

The Catholic League would have higher moral standing if the The Church would simply refuse Holy Communion to any Catholic politician who campaigned for, advocated, and voted to use money forcibly taken from pro-life taxpayers to fund abortions.
I agree hole-heartedly! The cable company gave me HBO free until January. They could have had a contract except for the fact that they keep showing this clown.
Sadly, asking for his “departure” by a Christian organization will actually get him more attention. Look what happened when Christians spoke out against “The Davinci Code.” It caused more folks to see it.
In our sick world, something may only get noticed IF Christians speak against it. This is truly sad.
Also, Alec Baldwin finally bit the dirt. However, he has been bashing Christians for years and this isn’t what got him. It was his using “anti-homosexual” slang words. So, it was homosexuals that got him fired. How can such a small minority have so much voice? Baldwin should have been shown the door years ago....but not because he used some anti-homo slurs. Absolutely unbelievable!
Bill Maher has been a vicious, evil, sewer-mouthed cretin who has spouted the vilest rhetoric against Conservatives, Christians and traditional American values. The fact that he employs this language with such impunity confirms the existence of a vast progressive secularist conspiracy on the part of the mainstream media.
At the very least we should refuse to patronize vendors who advertise in these venues. Only by exerting economic pressure on these bastards will they respond. Appeals to reason, fairness, etc is an exercise in futility.

Who in the HELL is Bill Maher ? ... and why in the HELL should I give a damn about what he thinks or says ? Look .... he’s a pathetic little man who is desperately hanging onto whatever celebrity he thinks he enjoys by saying outrageous things. That’s his pathetic MOS. He is to be pitied ... not taken seriously.
Way back when HBO was new they convinced me to sign up with the promise of college courses. The only course was a young black teacher teaching a middle-aged white man proper grammar.
They also promised three new movies each week, but there was only one and the other two were repeats of the two weeks before.
I dropped them and refused ever to sign up with them again.
Why should they? They don't think Catholics are a threat, because we're NOT. How many Catholics do you think will cancel their HBO subscription over Maher's comments? The only ones even inclined to do so probably don't have HBO anyway, so it's no skin off HBO's nose.
