The jury in the trial of two men accused of killing soldier Lee Rigby in south-east London has been shown CCTV images of one of the suspects buying knives the day before the attack.
Michael Adebolajo, 28, was shown buying a five-knife block and a knife sharpener from an Argos store in Lewisham, south-east London.
He and Michael Adebowale, 22, are also accused of attempting to murder a police officer.
Both deny the charges.
They also deny conspiracy to murder a police officer.
On the second day of the trial at the Old Bailey, the court was also shown CCTV images of Mr Adebolajo driving his Vauxhall Tigra on the day of the killing.

RIP Drummer Rigby.
It’s interesting that the Brits maintain a semblance of a speedy trial.
Knives are actually banned in the U.K. It must just be from carrying them, however. But how do you get your kitchen knives from the store to your house?
They tell you the CCTV shows the "suspect" buying the knives & the petro... BUT as leftwing collaborators with the "religion of peace" they censor what else the CCTV captured.
From the uncensored coverage of mirror.co.uk (link):
The jury are shown a picture of Adebolajo buying a five-piece knife set and block from Argos the day before the attack.Further images track the movement of both defendants in the Vauxhall Tigra on the morning of 22 May this year.
Adebolajo is shown buying petrol...
...There is a Koran in his pocket.
These murderers might actually get 12 whole years in jail.
I can assure you that the BBC today has shown all the released CCTV footage of the two buying their weapons.
You are bashing the BBC and indulging in ridiculous conspiracy theory based on a single BBC webpage with (by definition) a limited amount of images.
‘Knives are actually banned in the U.K.’
Please tell me this is satire. Because I am astounded at the many Americans who truly now believe that knives are banned in the UK. I hope you are not one of them ,a though I fear by your comment that you are.
For the 9th millionth time, they are not.
Whilst the UK has its fair share of over-lax sentences, these two will get life, either a full life tariff or a life sentence of a minimum term before parole (which may not be given) of 30-40 yrs. Anything else, and there will be riots here.
Interesting.
I think of murderers in other EU countries who get what are slight sentences for heinous crimes.
If your comment was not satire (or was not recognized as such by other readers) let me respond.
Intentional censorship of news requires no conspiracy but merely like-minded "journalists" sharing the same radical political agenda and the same willingness to use "journalism" to advance that agenda. To delude oneself otherwise is "ridiculous."
BBC's censorship of Islam's role in the terrorist crime on trial has nothing to do with limited webpage space nor images. Reporting that the CCTV footage included shots of the Koran in perpetrator's pocket took the Mirror less than 1 line of text ("There is a Koran in his pocket.") - and no images.
Any article - no matter how short - about this crime that excludes Islam's role is a deliberate censorship of the real story and its significance.
To believe otherwise is willful blindness.
You think the BBC is trying to sideline the fact these two are Muslim?. You couldn’t hid their Islamicness if you tried.
As someone, unlike you, who actually IS British and actually watches the BBC, their being Islam has not been sidelined, softsoaped or deliberately downplayed. Complete tosh. Complete rubbish.
Your theory is nonsense, drivel. And the other UK freepers will tell you the same thing.
Can one legally carry a Kershaw spring loaded pocket knife on ones person in merry old England?
So I can carry a Kershaw Onion, which is less than three inches provided I have a “good reason”. That “good reason” isn’t specifically defined so it’s up to the Bobby on the street to decide, not an actual law that makes any senses.
One Bobby’s “good reason” may not be another’s. So the average Brit is at the mercy of the cop on the street, not an objective, plainly stated law.
However carrying a Kershaw Leek model 10 cm longer will get me a prison sentence in your fine country.
Does that about sum it up or did I miss something?
Check that. Kershaw knives have a locking blade so even my 3 inch long model will get me prison time in England.
Tell me, please. What sort of a government bans a tool because it carries an important safety feature like being able to lock the blade in place while working with it?
So in short the answer to my question is “no, I can’t. And if I do the British government will put me in a British prison.”
You’re being governed by lunatics. You do realize that. Don’t you?
Not that we are all that much better....
Thanks again for the help.
As long as you have a valid reason for carrying, you will be fine.
The draconial knife laws are aimed by and large in the UK at the youth. Remember most of our violent crime, inc murder, is committed by knife. We are a nation of the knife, just as you are a nation of the gun.
You don’t actually get prison here just for carrying a knife. Or even a charge. It depends on the context and the carrier, the punishments are aimed at the violent and/or persistent offender. Which perhaps the cold black and white of the GOV website dosent show. Plenty of UK people will carry a knife every day for legitimate reasons and unless you are waving it about, or are mistaken for a gang thug, youll be fine.
I have carried many times myself, and because I don’t look ‘gang’, aren’t 18 anymore, and my knives were safely on my person and not in plain view, I have never once been stopped. And I once walked half a mile home with a commando knife and 2 flickknives in my pockets and carrying a samurai sword in a sheath!. LOL.
The police almost exclusively stop youths they suspect of carrying. Its actually rare a copper would stop you, an adult, on suspicion.
Lunatics?. No.
Well intentioned but flawed and over-draconian laws, yes.
I will not waste words or time with such a devoted apologist for the leftwing media's collaboration with the Jihadists waging war against the West.
My reply is directed to the other FReepers reading your posts, who may believe that someone "who actually IS British" must know what they're talking about.
As background, my 1st post on this thread that provoked scotsman's defense of the BBC was #5. In it I pointed out the BBC article's censoring the fact that the CCTV footage presented at the trial shows the perp with a Koran in his pocket. I linked a Mirror article reporting this fact. Scotman asserted this proves nothing & the BBC is not biased.
Well here's more proof:
A Google News search for media outlets reporting the appearance of the word "Koran" in reports of the Rigby trial produced 4 pages of results including the Telegraph, Independent, SkyNews, DailyMail, Express and many other - but NOT the BBC:
LINKIn fact a Google Web search of the BBC site for all mentions of Koran in their reports of the Rigby murder returned 4 results - all articles reporting Deputy PM Gregg's claim that the Koran condemns the Rigby murder. HA! HA! HA!
LINKAs for how many Rigby murder articles the BBC published where the word Muslim or Muslims does NOT appear, here's the URL of the 1st dozens of pages upon pages of search results:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-24297429But while the BBC's pro Muslim bias may be unknown to scotsman, it has been reported very widely on many internet outlets. Here's a mere sample:http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-25100084

This thread's article reports CCTV footage of knives, petro and the car - but not the footage of the Koran - and it meticulously omits mention of Muslim/Muslims.
And yet what is fundamental to all these Jihadist attacks? What is the common denominator when the weapons change, from cars to planes, knives to guns and shoe-bombs, underwear-bombs and every other possible means of destruction?
The fundamental element of the Rigby attack and all other Jihadi attacks is Muslims and the Koran. But the BBC choses to exclude that from their coverage.
And to think it has apologists here on FR trying to provide cover is a sham.
So this lifelong Conservative, Tory and UKIP voter, ex-military and political and social conservative, is part of the leftist apologia?. Meet me for one minute and you would know I am not and never have been and never will be of the left.
And again, I say, you are quoting webpages, I was talking about the TV and radio coverage, which, again as I said, if you actually watched and listened to (as I have), the two men and their motives have been very clearly explained. Islam and Afghanistan (their twisted ‘reason’) has been at the forefront of TV/RADIO BBC reporting.
Its has to be, you cannot avoid it. It is after all their reason for what they did.
I am no ‘apologist’ for BBC news coverage and current affairs. It is and has been shamefully pro-Europe, politically correct and liberal-biased for years.
