While a bare majority of voters in solidly blue California still approve of President Obama's job performance, dissatisfaction with his leadership on key issues has increased significantly - especially among those who were once solidly part of his base, according to a Field Poll released Tuesday.
And in a finding that could affect Obama's fellow Democrats as they head into the 2014 elections, the poll shows that just one-third of California voters surveyed say the country is moving in the right direction, while 55 percent believe it is "seriously off on the wrong track." That's a significant decline from February, when 48 percent said the country was on the right track and 44 percent said it was on the wrong track.
The 51 percent of respondents who approve of Obama's performance represents an 11-point slide in the Field Poll since the start of his second term. His disapproval rating stands at 43 percent.

Obozo is even losing CA!
Okay now the MSM s spotting him 40 points...
Field Poll is a “media-sponsored public opinion news service”. If this is the best result they could muster you know it has to be far worse.
Obama may be tanking in the polls but these same folks will vote for the next American Idol candidate that spouts glittering promises of collectivism.
They NEVER differentiate between the candidate and the candidates empty rhetoric.
But they’ll keep voting in the most mentally ill of Dems.
He hasnt lost California, I still see enough boneheads driving around with their Obama bumper stickers on their cars, but this is in Los Angeles County, otherwise known as liberal looneyland
“Okay now the MSM s spotting him 40 points...”
Probably not. I had dinner recently with a wealthy liberal couple who said they would NEVER vote for a Republican. They are not holding Obama’s screw-ups against the Democratic party. I believe that 40% of the people feel the same way.
“I believe that 40% of the people feel the same way.”
That’s true. It’s always been that way though. How many national elections have you seen that have been won by anything more 20 points? They’re not that common.
1% for every electoral vote
“How many national elections have you seen that have been won by anything more 20 points? Theyre not that common.”
My uncle, who was in politics for 50 years, said that 40% of the people would vote for an unknown of either party no matter who the opposition was. He believed that all elections were decided by the 11% of people in the middle. My observation is that he was correct. My mother used to say, if all your friends jumped off a cliff, would you do it too? Well, I suspect that 40% of people would vote to have themselves killed if that were on the ballot. (What is Obamacare if not a death panel for everybody eventually?)
Mark Levin reading it now...
Does he have FreeRepublic up?
California will still re-elect Pelosi, Waxman, Feinstein, Boxer, Waters, Lee.
Is California getting smarter. Not a bit.
American’s unease and frustration has been growing and building over the past 5 years, yet the corrupt MSM has constantly been telling everybody how wonderful things really are under Obama and how we are on the economic recovery upswing. Yet, people know something hasn't been right these past 5 years. So many out of work. Losing family purchasing power, and so on. And so this frustration has been steadily increasing without any real focus.
Obama has been smart by deflecting all of this growing tension by emotionally siding with Americans by constantly campaigning against, Washington, Republicans, the establishment, anybody, and everybody.
Now; however, suddenly people have after been and are being directly adversely impacted by Obamacare, Obama signature legislation, passed by Democrats and railed against by Republicans and the Tea Party. So now, just now, and perhaps for the very first time, people have a focal point for all their anger and frustration — and Obama and Democrats are finally caught, red-handed lying and punishing Americans for political purposes.
So for once in a generation, much like Watergate, the American public finally sees the object of their frustration and ill-ease with the direction of the country. The lid has been successfully kept on by the corrupt MSM, but now this is real. This is tangible to everyday Americans.
Every day Americans are being harmed by Obama and Democrats. Americans have finally seen that Obama and democrats lied to them and pulled the wool over their eyes and now I think the American public’s anger, and maybe even outrage - will grow and grow as the damage becomes more widespread and deeper.
It's too early to see how this all plays out, but right now this could be a once in a generation punishing landslide that is steadily brewing.
“It’s too early to see how this all plays out, but right now this could be a once in a generation punishing landslide that is steadily brewing. “
Unfortunately there isn’t an opposition party with leadership with passion, principles, integrity, courage, conviction, and patriotism. Instead we have a bunch of corrupt status quo politicians lining their pockets and quick to accommodate.
” I still see enough boneheads driving around with their Obama bumper stickers on their cars, but this is in Los Angeles County....”
Same up here in the Bay Area. Venture into Berkeley and all the old clapped out Volvos and VW Microbuses are still sporting Obama stickers. And they are usually being driven by a 60’s era hippies that are all probably on Medicaid.
The only thing that will straighten up California is a strong earthquake or a neutron bomb.
It is astounding how many liberal idiots blame the GOP for what the Democrats do! They don’t have sense enough to know that they actually don’t like the Dems because they are too stupid to know who is really doing what.
When 1.3 million here in California lost their HC insurance, it changed
Yeah you couldnt pay me to go into Berkeley LOL..the ones around here who have Obama bumper stickers all drive Prius’s..I Guess for whatever reason liberals think that by driving around those crappy cars that they are saving the environment..dummies
“I Guess for whatever reason liberals think that by driving around those crappy cars that they are saving the environment..dummies...”
Actually, they drive those crappy cars because they either regard them as 60’s classics, or they can’t afford anything any better. The Pius it today’s crappy car. Every time I see one, I look inside to see if the occupants are dressed in clown suits.
WOW!I was beginning to think of California as a”Foreign Country”?????????????????????????????????????
What’s next,New York City????????????????
California too? They’re just mad their food stamps are getting cut to pre-stimulus levels.
You know what else I see around here..the Volt LOL what idiot actually bought that stupid thing it looks ridiculous and whenever I look into the car to see whose driving it its always some middle aged woman like “Hey look at me Im saving the environment by driving this crap”
>> “ or they cant afford anything any better” <<
Around Concord and P-Hill even the illegal chollos are driving late model Mercedes Benz.
Tom Sullivan let it slip out yesterday that he reads FreeRepublic.
When Iran does instant urban renewal on LA, his approval rating should drop a few points.
“You know what else I see around here..the Volt”
I have to take issue with your statement. I work with a guy who owns BOTH a Prius and a Volt. He tells me that the Volt is a superior vehicle in every respect. (The Pius is his wife’s car)
First of all, it will comfortably carry five adults. Unlike the Pius which switches over to a gas engine when the batteries are run down, the Volt always uses the electric motor to provide propulsion and the engine is simply a generator to keep the batteries charged. A gas engine set up to run a constant speed for a generator can be set up to be much cleaner from an emissions standpoint. He also says that the Volt goes farther on a full charge than does the Pius. He commutes 75 miles each way to work. Says it costs him a couple of bucks a day for gas because he doesn’t have a charger at work. It’s another couple of bucks for the electricity at home to charge the car over night. Less than $5 for a 150 mile trip.
