OKLAHOMA CITY A burglary quickly turned into a chase Monday afternoon, but this time, it wasnt police trailing the criminals; it was the victim.
***snip*** Perhaps more brazen, the criminals came back for seconds just as police left the house with the first report.
Sanders heard a truck rounding a corner with his trailer connected to the back.
A former Marine, the man wasnt going to hold back when he saw the thieves.
He jumped into his truck and started chasing the burglars.
I think thats just part of his personality, said Hayley. Thats why he signed up for the Marine Corps in the first place, because he has a heros heart.
Sanders said, I was on edge for sure.
He trailed the burglars all the way to the Daylight Donuts one mile away.
The suspects stopped and Sanders says one man got out of the truck with a knife.
He was already on the phone with 911.
Sanders said, I didnt get out of the vehicle. At this point, the dispatcher told me not to.
Police were on their way, but when the men jumped back into the truck, Sanders still followed.
He said, They actually got ahead of me for a little bit and had time to dump the trailer.
Police jumped into the mix and lost the crooks.

When are people going to realize that CCW wins every knife fight? Besides the police could have just followed the smell from such an encounter.
Way to go! Give yourselves another donut.
Another confirmation.
When seconds count, police are just minutes away. But you better not try to stop a robbery!
The charges and jail time are worse than repeat offender criminals get.
Disgusting.
When seconds count , Police are only minutes away.
” Police jumped into the mix and lost the crooks.”
Typical.
Must be cops from ny on loan.
There’s an echo in here! lol
How do you let a truck and trailer lose you in traffic?
How do you NOT flatten the tires at the donut shop?
Police jumped into the mix and lost the crooks... while they waited at Daylight Donuts for them to return.
The crooks were criminal geniuses. Why they were wasting their time on small-time thievery is beyond me.
The brilliant touch of losing the cops near a doughnut shop was inspired; something like losing bloodhounds in a dog treat factory.
