This commercial is too controversial for the NFL?
GOP USA ^ | 12/3/2013 | Bobby Eberle

Have you ever heard of Daniel Defense? If not, you won't be learning about them at this season's Super Bowl either. The company submitted a commercial to be broadcast during Super Bowl XLVIII, but the NFL has rejected it. What's so controversial about it? Take a look, and judge for yourself...

As reported by Guns & Ammo, Daniel Defense put a commercial together that they hoped to air during America's most coveted commercial viewing window: the Super Bowl.

The commercial, which focuses on themes of personal protection and fundamental rights, was originally created by Daniel Defense to run in any network TV station at any time.

According to a statement from FOX to Daniel Defense, “Unfortunately, we cannot accept your commercial in football/Super Bowl spots due to the rules the NFL itself has set into place for your company’s category.”

As Guns & Ammo points out, the NFL's Prohibited Advertising Categories does contain a section regarding firearms and weapons which reads:

Firearms, ammunition or other weapons; however, stores that sell firearms and ammunitions (e.g., outdoor stores and camping stores) will be permitted, provided they sell other products and the ads do not mention firearms, ammunition or other weapons.

But here's the catch, Daniel Defense sells "products other than firearms such as apparel" and the "commercial itself does not mention firearms, ammunition or weaponry." Watch the commercial for yourself:

So what do think? Pretty violent, eh? Pretty outrageous, right?

Here's a great commentary on the issue, please pardon the occasional profanity:

The fact that the subject of "self defense" is actually controversial in America should make everyone pause for a few moments. What's happening to this country?

We have entire groups of legislators and their followers who would rather you sit and be a victim in a home invasion rather than protect yourself. And why? Because according to them, the only organization that should be doing the protecting is government. The less you rely on yourself, the more you will rely on government. That's what they want, and that's exactly what the criminals want too: turn in your guns... wait for the police... everything will be just fine.

This action by the NFL is beyond stupid!

How many convicted felons play in the NFL? We know that some of them are murderers, woman and animal abusers!

I am sick and tired of having Liberal Vermin and other minorities dictating and imposing their treasonous vomit on the rest of U.S.!

We have every right to defend ourselves by ANY means that we choose.

Time to take back OUR country. Lock and Load!

This is actually a brilliant move on the part of Daniel Defense.

Knowing Roger Goodell and the NFL’s all-too-PC proclivities, they knew full well that this request WOULD be rejected.

Which is now a story that’s gone viral. So they are getting all of the buzz of running an ad during the Super Bowl without having to pay for it.

All quite brilliant IMO.

I got to see he Commercial. I wouldn’t have seen it on the Super Bowl program because I don’t waste my time watching the Super Bowl.

If you want to see a local team playing real football go to a High School game.

These guys do not belong to a region, they will play for anyone who pays them. They are mercenaries.

Here you go:

1. White Guy - offensive to minorities.
2. Appears to be coming home from a JOB - offensive to the unemployed
3. House looks like it’s in a nice neighborhood - offensive to the poor
4. Former Military - offensive to hippies and peace-niks
5. Wife is white & female - offensive to minorities and same-sex marriage advocates
6. Smiling baby in crib - offensive to pro-abortion crowd

IOW, an ad to piss off everyone on the Left.

Too bad the limp-wristed pinko Goodell doesn’t have the same general attitude toward their players off the field criminal behavior... ironical.

And the whole episode is an affront to LGBT types. The family is obviously well-adjusted and disgustingly heterosexual.

American football is for cowards, pansies, dreadlockians and assorted other Obamalike types.

More self-defense means more thugs getting shot, hence drastically reducing the talent pool the NFL draws on. Makes sense they’d reject an ad promoting self-defense.

What I have been pondering for years now and still with every hour of my commute each day dedicated to thinking through this, cannot wrap my head around how in the hell and who in the hell has such power that they can literally dictate the rules and policies of almost every day business, department, or any entity that has rules in this country to their own personal whims??! Be they environmental, political, social.

How are they doing this? How do they get in positions to not be laughed out of the room? How are they allowed to bring up these ridiculous lawsuits, or even threaten them, with any ounce of credibility?

I KNOW if I just decided to start threathening to sue any organization, business, company or group that I decided I wanted to change their operations or stance on something that:

A) Almost no lawyer would take my case pro-bono or even waste their time with what they may perceive as a “lunatic”
B) No court would take it seriously and immediately dismiss any case, even if I got a lawyer to play along.
C) the leadership of these organization would tell me/my cause to get lost.

I mean, really, how the hell do these liberals pull this off, on a daily basis, and in an astonishingly comprehensive way?

I am fed up and to the point where if I can figure out or someone will share the formula I will become the worst busybody/nuisance the nation has ever seen... just for the simple game of saying “HA I figured it out, now bow to my unmitigated power!”.

Does anyone have any insight on how all this is pulled off?

I have a theory.

The NFL is run by liberals, and liberals are a hive mentality.

The drones are happy to assist Queen Obama in his aims.

That young man has so much common sense it oozes out of him. And yes, a certain race of people need to ‘git sum o dat’, but instead, too many like Jesse Jackasson will scoff and call him an uncle tom. ... I wonder, could wisdom be catching?

You need look no further for your answer than the enemy media who spout the progressive message twenty-four seven, while swilling the money to sell ‘stuff’. The disconnect is probably calculated ...
