Skip to comments.RNC chair: ‘Of course’ I’m supporting McConnell
Posted on 12/04/2013 7:57:52 AM PST by jimbo123
The head of the Republican National Committee waved off any suggestion he might not rally behind Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell in his bid for reelection.
"Of course I'm going to support the leader of the Republican Party," Reince Priebus told the panel on CNN's "Crossfire" on Tuesday.

Gotta have that Karl Rove $$$$$$ !
“Reince Priebus” -—> RoveBot
The GOP is in full on Zombie mode. Like Rush says, if they’re just going to echo the democrats what friggin good are they
The boy with the boarding-school name backing Mitch while sounding like a real conservative. /s
Bottom line: Mitch has the seniority & the track record for bringing home the big bucks to the Bluegrass State & KY voters aren’t gonna throw that away lightly.
They’re not going to change their dependecies, their loyalties and ideologies(fear?greed?laziness?), any sooner that the libs will, who are floating Bernie Sanders, going for their radical let base
That’s what they’re about.
He’ll send tons of cash to help McConnell but would hardly lift a finger to help Cuccinelli.
We might not win them all next year...but we WILL win some, taking out some establishment preferred candidates, and making the US Senate, not such a nice place to work anymore, encouraging more retirements.
Karl Rove: “Reince, the check just cleared.”
“Of course I’m supporting McConnell’s opponent”—iacovatx and the majority of conservative voters
“Of course I’m supporting C Christie”—RNC, whose 2012 presidential candidate was partly deep-sixed by Christie in the last weeks before the election.
If we want to have an impact, we must go after the funding sources. For example, the Ch of Commerce wants to pour money into destructive Repub candidates. If the C of C’s members get the message that a large number of customers know who they are and will make buying decisions accordingly, they may reconsider. Ridiculing C of C members who think legalizing millions of leftist illegals will somehow provide them with cheap labor need to be reminded of just how expensive legalized employees are. For example, Obamacare. And, big tech companies that wish to employ grateful third-world techs and engineers at low wages need to be called out publically and the light shown on their grand wealth and arrogance while those H1B’s they employ, who know nothing but the corrupt socialist govt’s in their home countries, live in cramped 900,000 dollar houses just south of San Fran.
That means you are stupid.
- - - The politically disastrous government shutdown
and the uncompromising posture of conservatives has pushed the GOP Establishment to a tipping point. - - - (Quote by Mitch McConnell).
Note: For the sake of discussion, I have annotated the key McConnell quote (IMHO) from another FR McConnell thread article.
It is worthwhile for us Conservatives to take notice of what the RINO Establishment deems important after being bypassed for nearly 5 years by an Oppressive Communist takeover of the US Federal Government.
During the recent partial shutdown of the US Federal Government, the Just Say NO! intransigent obstructionism of Communist Senator Harry Reid and Communist Tyrant B. Hussein Obama has been successfully sold to the RINO Establishment by the ever-helpful Leftstream Media as disastrous. [See point # 1 above.]
In fact, the main disaster was that the laid off Federal employees were given back pay for the days they were on shutdown vacation.
Notice how quick the RINO Establishment has been to accept the Leftstream Medias second point: The uncompromising posture of Conservatives. [See point # 2 above.]
This quickness to reject Courage of ones convictions, Principle, and other stellar virtues of duly elected political party members is the most revealing tell of the lack of a philosophy that represents the voters who elected them.
If we, the Conservatives Voters, have learned anything from TARP to Obamacare, it should, IMHO, be this:
A Republican in Name Only, (RINO), will always support the easiest possible solution, regardless of the great harm that will be done to the United States of America.
Now comes the difficult part for each of us Conservative Voters.
1.) Do we re-elect a pro-Democrat RINO in the vain, (IMHO), hope that somehow a RINO majority will actually rollback the great harm done to our Country from TARP to Obamacare? IOW, THIS time it will be different!
2.) Do we attack, full-bore, the RINO Establishment as the proven useless guardian of the US Constitution and American Core Values?
2014 is the perfect time to decide to accept or reject the RINO Establishment, IMHO.
What say all of you?
I thought that the next chance the “repubicans” had to demonstrate that they have at least an ounce of testicular fortitude was coming up with the Debt Limit fight.
Yet no one on the right is talking about it. WTF, over?!?
Nobody reasonbly expected the RNC chair to back a Tea Party challenger over the sitting GOP Senate leader.
The only way to force the GOPe to shift is for the Tea Party candidates to prevail in more than half of the 2014 Senate race victories.
If Dems lose 6 Senate races, at least 3 of resulting winners must be from the Tea Party.
Rove/Priebus/Cornyn RINO candidates LOST more Senate races to RATS than the Tea Party candidates did.
Fine, but I’m interested in the other side of the equation, before “we” can make a difference.
Being able to say “We WON more than you did”, is a much more powerful argument than “You lost more than we did”.
Reince Priebus I wonder what his real name is. Outside of bad science fiction nobody would name a kid Reince Priebus
Why the Hell does he still have a job after the Romney debacle?
Top 10 establishment Republicans who lost senate races in 2012
Thanks for the ping.
“Of course I’m going to support the leader of the Republican Party,” Reince Priebus told the panel on CNN’s “Crossfire” on Tuesday.
No doubt this idiot would also support Cochran, too.
The RNC got my last donation when Sarah Palin ran with McCain.
“Of course I am going to support a brother progressive like mitch... what the hell else would a progressive do”?
Reince is just invoking the old saying, “Democrats fall in love, Republicans fall in line.”
Not any more, Reince. Not any more.
Ive posted this around the net a number of times and do so again inasmuch as THIS is a constantly recurring problem and some may not grasp how widespread it is. And now that the RNC has OPENLY declared war on the Tea Party, it should be clear to all why I have for a few decades cautioned my many friends to NOT SEND THE RNC A NICKLE.
Over the years when, to steal a line from Billy Joel, I wore a younger mans clothes I was involved with several pretty solid conservative candidates for Congress. One was a Democrat (Lawrence Patton McDonald) because that was the only way he could win in that district. Those old-timers who know Larrys record will tell you that he was a solid an anti-communist America Firster and more Republican than the Pubbies in nearby districts at the time. (His mothers cousin was General George Patton from whom he got the middle name and his incredible resolve and love of this country.) How ironic that he, like General Patton, was also assassinated by the communists they both despised. It was my honor to introduce Larry at his last public speech in the district before that ill-fated KAL007 flight!
Those other candidates ran as Republicans and each had to pass my rigid litmus test or I went looking for someone who did. For that reason, I hooked up with what the TRADITIONAL country club Pubbie establishment types believed were too radical for their refined tastes. I served as treasurer for several and in other capacities for more.
As those campaigns began to unfold and it became clear to the country clubbers that these guys 1) had a shot and 2) were pretty independent thinkers who would be hard to keep on the reservation once they got sworn in, the local Pubbies communicated that information to the Republican National HQ types who rather quickly sent in campaign professionals ostensibly to lock up the impending victory.
Instead, in nearly every case to which I was privy, these professionals proceeded to TORPEDO our guys campaign in subtle but effective ways.
From that experience I can tell you that the Pubbies at the HQ in D.C. would rather have a Democrat win a given district than have a pubbie up there who would embarrass them by refusing to follow the party line.
If YOU become involved in campaigns for solidly conservative, America and Constitution loving, hard-nosed, independent thinking candidates in 2014 and beyond and I pray many of you do — please DO NOT trust any of those folks from GOP HQ in Washington. If they want to send you no-strings cash for your campaign, take it. If, however, they suggest sending in one of their professionals, tell them to fuggetaboutit.
They ARE WHO GOT US INTO THIS MESS AND THEY ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS!!!!
“The common and continual mischief of the spirit of Party is
sufficient to make it the interest and duty of a wise people to
discourage and restrain it.” G. Washington
(BTW, My genealogical research informs me that my 5th great-grandfather, one John Carpenter, was one of George Washingtons Virginia neighbors and fought with GW in the French and Indian War and the Revolution. Prior to that, John traveled with GW during his survey of the Northwest Territories.)

And this is one fine example of why donations from the peasants to the RNC , and votes for RNC backed candidates have declined disastrously.
It is why the USA is far down the road to serfdom of the middle class;
It is why we have an upstart King in The Whitehouse, and the Senate, is the ‘House of Lords.
A pox on all of you statist Establishment Repubican / GOPe minions.
Prince Rebus ping-a-ling.
But, will he support Bevin after he defeats Harry Reid’s clone?
They work in the Senate?
He barely won the last two times out. He is not liked in KY for a reason. If Grimes says no to obamacare, is not for gun control and is strong on supporting coal—yes I know all democrats in the south say these things to win, but if she does she will win.
Fire Priebus. Fire McConnell.
Were I Priebus, I would support the candidate in good standing with a majority of the REPUBLICAN voters in that state, not the unpopular and ineffective incumbent politician, but that’s just me...
Seems to me if you want to lead the opposition party, you have to LEAD!
I like your pic. Would paint a better picture were tar and feathers included!
Rush needs to spend a lot of time in the next campaign season interviewing primary opponents of the RINO’s
The GOP punted, they will not put up any real fight.
if they try to pass amnesty the GOP is going to lose the House and Senate both
Ask a guy in Virginia named Ken about that
