Sen. Mitch McConnells Republican primary challenger, Matt Bevin, insists hes just where he wants to be in his longshot bid to unseat Kentuckys longest-serving senator.
Im David, and hes Goliath. Thats just the reality of it. However, the path to victory just gets wider and wider, said Mr. Bevin, a private-equity investor-turned-Senate candidate, on a swing through Washington.
The McConnell campaign doesnt quite see it that way. To them, the Bevin challenge is disappearing fast in the rearview mirror.
We dont pay very much attention to Mr. Bevin these days, said McConnell campaign manager Jesse Benton. His campaign has gone nowhere and we have largely moved beyond the primary to focus on ensuring Mitchs victory in the general election.
Some big players in the McConnell corner, on the other hand, appear a tad more skittish.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce announced plans this week to back the minority leader with a $180,000 TV ad buy

- - - The politically disastrous government shutdown
and the uncompromising posture of conservatives has pushed the GOP Establishment to a tipping point. - - - (Quote by Mitch McConnell).
Note: For the sake of discussion, I have annotated the key McConnell quote (IMHO) from another FR McConnell thread article.
It is worthwhile for us Conservatives to take notice of what the RINO Establishment deems important after being bypassed for nearly 5 years by an Oppressive Communist takeover of the US Federal Government.
During the recent partial shutdown of the US Federal Government, the Just Say NO! intransigent obstructionism of Communist Senator Harry Reid and Communist Tyrant B. Hussein Obama has been successfully sold to the RINO Establishment by the ever-helpful Leftstream Media as disastrous. [See point # 1 above.]
In fact, the main disaster was that the laid off Federal employees were given back pay for the days they were on shutdown vacation.
Notice how quick the RINO Establishment has been to accept the Leftstream Medias second point: The uncompromising posture of Conservatives. [See point # 2 above.]
This quickness to reject Courage of ones convictions, Principle, and other stellar virtues of duly elected political party members is the most revealing tell of the lack of a philosophy that represents the voters who elected them.
If we, the Conservatives Voters, have learned anything from TARP to Obamacare, it should, IMHO, be this:
A Republican in Name Only, (RINO), will always support the easiest possible solution, regardless of the great harm that will be done to the United States of America.
Now comes the difficult part for each of us Conservative Voters.
1.) Do we re-elect a pro-Democrat RINO in the vain, (IMHO), hope that somehow a RINO majority will actually rollback the great harm done to our Country from TARP to Obamacare? IOW, THIS time it will be different!
2.) Do we attack, full-bore, the RINO Establishment as the proven useless guardian of the US Constitution and American Core Values?
2014 is the perfect time to decide to accept or reject the RINO Establishment, IMHO.
What say all of you?
Give Mitch one more push.
Support Matt Bevin to oust Mitch McConnell in KY
How about TREASON against those who elected him?
Wonder how much money Bevin is getting from Obama Bundlers?
Exactly. The same way Claire McCaskill funded Todd Akin during Missouri’s GOP primary.
I donated a little to Bevin. I will try to give more as I can.
I am not a bundler, and I donated. It is time to stop the establishment statists.
Why would obama fund someone against him and harry rieds good friend Mitch McConnell?
Unless Bevin is the nominee or the democrat Grimes is a pure idiot I think McConnell is toast in KY. Democrats hate him and most conservatives have begun to realize McConnell hates them. If McConnell is the nominee KY goes blue this time.
I have ran into a lot of conservatives who are not buying Mitch’s usual BS this time around. Some are 1960’s Goldwater, down the line Republican voters who have told me they are done voting for liberals with an (R) in front of their names and McConnell is the first name out of their mouths followed by not this time even if the democrat wins.
Sometimes I guess people just have had enough of being used, abused, lied too and taken for granted.
