Good commutes today, thanks! I got my shot this morning and made it by 7:00 a.m. to the Emissions Testing Station - a badge of servitude we're forced to endure in the People's Republic of Maryland - and had my van tested. It failed for some reason I am unable to fathom.

Meanwhile, I am passed on the road by vehicles belching dark smoke from their exhausts with no consequences.

I have been called for jury duty twice in recent years - never selected for a trial. Can't imagine why. :)

Good evening, Sandy! I hope you have had a great Thanksgiving! Your post says a lot regarding what's wrong in our schools these days.

I can’t IMAGINE why you weren’t selected. LOL!

They finally stopped our emissions testing last year after we had multiple years without going over the limit (amid complaining that all they wanted was money!!).

Good luck getting the “failure” fixed.

That is as it should be. I have many fond memories of Thanksgiving dinners with family, going back to 1950, when I was little more than an infant.

One of my earliest memories of Thanksgiving Dinner was from Thanksgiving, 1952 - my father was back home from Korea and my Uncle Jack Dowd was out of hospital after having been WIA. He glared across the table at me and said that if I didn't eat my potatoes I'd be court-martialed. My great-grandmother intervened and I was spared.

Years later, my Uncle Jack became the most important influence in my life other than my Father.

I made it home...ugly, ugly, ugly. I HATE tailgaters!!!!

I didn’t want to go the speed limit. Several antsy guys in trucks tailgated, then finally zoomed around, a little squirrely, and I met them at the next signal. Hehehe.
