House subcommittee: Obamacare’s $300 billion Medicare Advantage raid will hurt seniors next year

Obamacare “raided” $300 billion for Medicare Advantage and seniors will begin feeling the cuts next year, according to an analysis Tuesday by the House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee.

Obamacare took $700 billion from Medicare and $300 billion from Medicare Advantage alone for its own funding, according to the subcommittee. The cuts to Medicare Advantage beneficiaries will “begin to be fully realized in the next year,” according to the subcommittee.

“There was a promise made to seniors as well. The promise was that we’re going to use your Medicare dollars as a piggy bank to fund the Affordable Care Act, and in doing that we’ll improve Medicare and allow seniors to keep their doctors if they liked. So, do you have an opinion as to whether or not this is another broken promise?” subcommittee vice chairman Rep. Michael Burgess said in a statement.

“Those most hurt by the cuts are low-income seniors in rural areas without other options for supplemental Medicare coverage. Additional scheduled cuts in the future will broaden the damage to Medicare Advantage,” said American Action Forum president Doug Holtz-Eakin.

Twenty-eight percent of Medicare beneficiaries were enrolled in Medicare Advantage plans in 2013.

Just a word to any seniors reading this-

The AARP sold you down the river.
They knew. They didn’t care. They don’t care now.

Obama & other lefty kooks said this was a Republican lie. In fact, just yesterday Alan Colmes said it wasn’t true!

They will lie to your face to protect their agenda.

The only promise that Obama is keeping is emptying the treasury of the United States and spending political capital and money on homosexuality promotion and backing Muslim Jihadists. Weird and sick in the extreme.

By next year seniors, especially those just turning 65, will find a Medicare card to be almost worthless. With cuts in reimbursement to doctors and hospitals few will be accepting Medicare patients, especially new patients. Like Obama’s promise about keeping your health care plan and doctor, seniors will find they too have been lied to and victimized by Obamacare. I expect seniors to be up in arms next year and they vote. AARP will also be seen as betraying seniors with their open support of Obamacare.

To all seniors out there, make sure you pass the word to others about AARP and their connection to oboma. Do NOT support them in any way. They are NOT your friend. Pass it on, and put them out of business.

I am on medicare and learned this would happen so went to my doctor a couple months ago. I told her I had dropped my meds 6 out of 7, one I have to have, and she would not be seeing me again unless I had a bone I couldn’t set myself or a cut I couldn’t knit up myself and if it hastened my end, so be it. She seemed surprised.

I told her I had changed my diet in the last 2 months went off my meds, started working out again, and researched and began to use herbs and vitamins. I said I felt much better in all ways and most of my pain was gone.

She asked why and I told her after years of battle with the various governments I could not think of a single thing they had done for my benefit and would not allow them to put me in the ground when they decided to. I asked only for the one med and asked if she would write it without my having to return. She understood after I told her that with the coming changes to medicare she would be a government employee and in effect under their orders, so nothing personal but I won’t give them that power over my health and life.

I left her office and was paying my bill when she came to me and gave me a list of 3 herbs that I should add to my regime. She and her boss have treated me for 8 years and know how stubborn I am.

I also took a part time job since I figure this is just the start of the cuts and it will also include Social Security soon. Other things I have begun to do I would probably be better off not to mention here.

I have decided that I will not be a player in their sick games if I have any option.

One is either at the table or on the menu.

It is the nature of unlimited government.

Perhaps more accurately, it is the nature of fascism.

The taking of this money from Medicare and Medicare Advantage for Seniors is not new news.....but I’d bet that about half of the Seniors on Medicare voted for Obama in 2012.

“Those most hurt by the cuts are low-income seniors in rural areas . . ."

Translation: Those most hurt are seniors living in areas that vote Republican.

Wait a minute. I thought only Republicans want to hurt seniors.

Know this, if the Repubs help save Zerocare in any way shape or form, they'll
be blamed for everything that is Zerocare, and then some. It's the scapegoat, planned.

This is ObamaCare’s Abortion of the Elderly. They have to go, because the unemployed young won’t be able to finance the elderly sick.

The early Medicare Advantage for my state had about 8 comparable plans.

For 2014, that list is down to 4. One had zero premium, but a $250 deductible for drugs. One didn’t have drug coverage, so that would require an add-on policy. One increased the primary care doctor fee to $40 per visit. The 4th had zero premium, zero drug deductible, and an increase in primary care doctor from $5 to $15 and specialists from $30 to $45. Ironically, my doctors office quit accepting it 5 years ago, but are accepting it for next year.

Another irony — AARP/United didn’t even make the state list for 2014.

==

There seems to be little info on the changes coming to Medicare/Medicare Advantage, but from what I have read, we may see increased Part B premiums, increased MA plan premiums, and increased deductibles.

This is a superb opportunity for Republicans in the lead up to the mid-term elections. It is worth spending $10m to send out letters to seniors all over the US to tell them that they are to be screwed over by “the Democrat party” and Obamacare.

The letters should be very blunt:

“Every single Democrat you vote for supports hurting you this way. Not a single Republican in congress voted for this, because Republicans don’t want to hurt you. If you ever vote for a Democrat at any level again, you want to lose your Medicare Advantage. SO DO NOT VOTE FOR DEMOCRATS!”
