Impeaching just means that the Senate can start removal process, which takes 2/3 to carry out...which is 67 votes. They still can’t prosecute or imprison.
If the Rebublicans miraculously take ALL 21 Dem Senate seats in the next election, they will get to 66.
Expect them to fall short of even that with a few “throw them all out” movements.
The Vice President can only vote to break a tie, so he would have no vote in this?
Possibly the time to impeach is now, with many more Dem Senate seats up for grabs next November. Make them declare themselves on this issue, even if Democrats. Then maybe there will be some Dem votes in the Senate in favor of impeachment.
