Still waiting...
About six years ago, I was watching a German documentary on the surge upward in windmills. It was a personalized piece...they actually spent thirty minutes with the maintenance guy who went out each morning to a “farm”.
As the maintenance guy arrives....he pulls out this plastic bag. The camera crew asked what that was for as they are walking up to the first windmill. The maintenance guy bent over and picked up a dead bird, and noted it was for hauling the dead ones away...real crisp dry humor...as a German would deliver it.
I’d guess he picked up two or three at that site. The camera guy asked...how often does this happen. And the maintenance guy said...”everyday”.
I just sat there and thought you ought to have tens of thousands of environmentalists all disturbed over this fact in Germany. Strangely enough....they say nothing. You have to figure that 50,000 birds daily in Germany....are getting whacked by the blades. Statistically, it’d take thirty years but you’d eventually kill off the bird population.
