KILLER freezes, floods and heatwaves will devastate Britain during the next 30 years, climate experts have warned.
Many people could die as extreme weather becomes common.
There will be more freak winds like the October storm, which killed four people.
Heatwaves will be lethal and the sea level will rise, leaving coastal towns at risk of being swamped by storm surges.
Sir Brian Heap, president of the European Academies Science Advisory Council, said he felt “obliged” to issue the warning after a new study by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
It comes on the back of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, which has killed more than 5,000 people.
Sir Brian said: “Given the tragic events this year in the rest of the world and the recent IPCC report, EASAC feels obliged to draw attention to the growing impact of extreme weather in Europe.”
The continent’s leading experts had made a detailed study of likely extreme weather, he said.
Sir Brian warned: “From the major loss of lives in heatwaves to the economic and human costs of floods and storms, the implications are worrying.
“They present the European Union and Member States with significant challenges in preparing Europe for a future with greater frequency of extreme weather.”

Yup. We got to shovel about another 7 inches of globull warming off the driveway yesterday(thanks Mr. Snow plow driver for the HUGE pile of snow at the end of it) and right now it’s about 3 degrees out. Don’t think it’s hit bottom yet since the sun isn’t up for another 30 minutes.
As long as Killer Storms kill climate activist & liberals I’m good.
Just a decade or so ago these same pinheads said British children would grow up never seeing snow.
And since then, Britain has had some truly severe winter weather events.
So now it's on to claiming the weather is somehow more extreme, even though each event has precedents in human history (let along geological history).
I guess that's your fallback position when the globe refuses to keep warming.

There was a book that came out a couple of years ago, title was “Not By Fire But By Ice”. I read excerpts at the time and I think the author had a website. It made a LOT more sense to me than globull ‘warming’. Whatever the ‘theory’, the earth/weather will cycle as it will and mankind is along for the ride.
I hate when that happens. Most of the time I just wish they didn't plow and save tax dollars.

LOL! Yup. My neighbor somehow managed to make him avoid my driveway last year after my back surgery. Guess he forgot or thinks I must be all better now. As you probably know the snow he piles up is more compacted and tougher to move than the nice dry powder in the drive itself. Where’s the enterprising youngsters that used to shovel you driveway for $10? Oh, that was us. Why go out in the cold when you can be immersed in a video game killing zombies with a chain saw?

These four steps are pretty much guaranteed to fix whatever problem you may run across in life.
