Gay teacher fired from Catholic school for trying to wed partner
New York Daily News ^ | Dec 8, 2013 | Joel Landau

Posted on 12/08/2013 12:49:32 PM PST by Innovative

An openly gay teacher at a Pennsylvania Catholic school was fired after applying for a same-sex marriage license.

Griffin, an alumnus of the Catholic school, told Philadelphia TV station NBC10 that the school knew he was gay and his partner had attended many school functions. He said he was blindsided by his firing.

The school's headmaster, Fr. James McCloskey, told the station that Griffin violated his contract and the school's policy by obtaining the license.

McCloskey did not return a request for comment from the Daily News. But he did tell the station, "Although, the school welcomes teachers from other denominations and recognizes their rights to religious freedom, as employees of a Catholic institution, all teachers are expected to uphold lifestyles compatible with the moral teaching of the Roman Catholic Church."

He may have been out or he may have just showed up with his friend. I doubt whether they announced it to his students or proclaimed it from the altar. Have a ceremony and a license takes it to a new level.

If he was openly homosexual I can’t see why any school would hire him.

Letting men (and women) with his disorder near children is never a good idea.

There has already been cases like this, one I remember was a female teacher and the school won the case.

Same reason for keeping gay priests.

The idea that just because someone is "attracted to the same sex" doesn't seem to be a threat to whomever decides such things.

As my husband says, when one has gay "leaders" whether it is for choir boys, Boy Scouts, Boy's and Girl's clubs, that is "target marketing."

No sane person who takes their "non-judgmental" blinders off, would believe that trouble wouldn't be in store and what's worse, the children in their charge always wind up being molested!

The school's headmaster, Fr. James McCloskey, told the station that Griffin violated his contract and the school's policy by obtaining the license.

Even though these gay teachers have contracts and they are most likely clearly violated the contracts it is only a matter of time before Obama and the Democrats have stacked the courts with enough Leftist activist judges that private schools will eventually have no right to fire these perverts.

Absolutely right. The principal should be fired for even hiring this sexual deviant.

He probably got in under the radar not giving any impression he might be gay. I know a gay guy who wears a wedding ring not because he is married to his pal, but he wears it in order to fend off the women who think he is a great catch. So, the teacher probably hid it well knowing his employer would not like his amoral lifestyle.

Why was he so happy?

Or are they speaking in code, trying to avoid saying he is a disease-ridden boy-raping whackjob?

Its beaten-down religious trying to prove they are "open-minded." Probably they also could have been afraid of a discrimination suit, and assumed the guy was relatively low-key. Of course, you can never predict behavior on any person or group that think only with their genitals, and the administrators probably never imagined the guy would want "get married."

Shows why that thinking is full of land-mines.

The real deal is that most people personally know someone who is gay. The ones I know do great hair, sing great, etc. When I was in high school everyone knew that the best English teacher was gay, but he was never fired, because he never approached any students sexually and did not flaunt his lifestyle. The thing is when someone acts on it then everything changes. The school had a choice to make, allow the children to be witness to his flaunting or face the criticism from those outside the school.

The school should be commended for firing him.

The poofter should work for the public schools. The system will celebrate his perversion. They’ll have him bringing his “husband” to show and tell.

Judging by the posts by former students on the guy’s FB page, the school is churning out plenty of “Catholics” who see the Church’s teaching as “hate,” and the abolition of marriage as “marriage equality.”

It’s clear the school gave the guy all the slack he could have asked for. Once he went public, the school did the right thing.

Remember that gays crying discrimination usually can mean that he was caught doing something else, was fired, and has decided to claim that it was because he touches other dude’s junk.

Perhaps because the Church generally doesn’t have faithful and devout members frequenting openly gay establishments.

In my single days, I shared a townhouse with several other guys.

One of them turned out to be gay, something I hadn’t picked up for 6 months. . .

My wife & I were on a flight where the male attendant was literally entertaining us with oneliners & ad libs. An elderly lady asked him if he missed his wife while on duty.

He replied, “I’m not married.” She pointed to the gold band on his left hand & he joked, “Oh, that’s my `fag deflector’!”

“Your what!?”

“Ma’am, don’t know if you know this, but there are a lot of fags in the airline industry and since I’m straight I wear this to keep ‘em from hitting on me. My girlfriend doesn’t like it & she wants to know when I’ll wear it for real!”

The concocted word “gay” can mean just about a dozen things, including:
- that you experience same-sex attraction but you never act on it;
- that you repudiate your own same-sex attraction;
- that you want to act on these impulses in private; or
- that you are an activist pushing society in the direction of perversion, like this former teacher was.

The first two can be excused if the subject is sincere. The other conditions should disqualify him immediately.

It should have never got that far. If he was “openly gay”, it means that he was flaunting his unnatural lifestyle before innocent youngsters. Overt homosexuals have no business in a faith based school whose creed teaches that homosexual acts are intrinsically wrong and “disordered.” He should have never been hired.

If two guys are merely living together, there's no objective reason to think they are committing sodomy. Mere cohabitation of two males or two females is no crime and no sin, and straight people have same sex housemates, college roommates, share apts, etc. all the time.

But if they proclaim themselves "married", they are announcing that they're having some kind of sexual relations. That's where the Catholic employer has to draw a line: the two men have turned their "private" sexual arrangement into a public proclamation.

Actually, the homo is the one claiming that the school "knew" that he was homosexual. Of course he's going to make this contention, because it bolsters his argument.
