Toadies: People Magazine Hypes 20-Year-Old Son of Caroline Kennedy as

To prove the liberal media never, ever stops promoting the Kennedy “dynasty” ad infinitum, the December 16 edition of people magazine highlights this story in the table of contents: “JFK’s only grandson, Jack Kennedy Schlossberg, steps up to carry the family torch.” He’s only 20 and going to Yale. The headline is "HEIR TO CAMELOT."

Next to his picture on page 92 is the caption “A HUNK LIKE HIS UNCLE: Schlossberg has JFK Jr. infatuation potential – and more. ‘He will be a major figure of his generation,’ predicts Kennedy family biographer Laurence Leamer.” It's hard to tell if this is People or a boy-band fanzine like Tiger Beat.

The article by former AP reporter Sandra Sobieraj Westfall oozed “Jack Schlossberg radiated debonair brightness as he played host at a D.C. dinner for Medal of Freedom honorees on November 20....Schlossberg nailed it with a jaunty ease reminiscent of his uncle John F. Kennedy Jr., who he admires.”

“Jack is very interested in John Jr.s life, and loves being compared to him,” said an anonymous friend of the Kennedy clan. So People magazine obliges like typically obsequious liberals.

Beyond the lustrous hair and heartthrob brown eyes, the two namesakes of the stories Kennedy family share a grace and humor, say those who know Schlossberg At Yale the New York City native performs comedy improv in the exaggerated Boston accent of the rest of his clan and writes boyishly witty blog posts.”

As if this isn’t ridiculously pandering enough, this takes the case. A “college friend” swears “He’s just Jack. He’s proud of his family, but he doesn’t use that in any way.”

People magazine is just preposterous in its truth-denying obedience.

CNN's Candy Crowley puffed up young Jack in an interview at the 2012 Democratic convention alongside his mom, in which he promises he's most interested in the family business:

The Kennedy’s have one big-time pissed-off banshee following them around. I wouldn’t hang out around any of them.

At Yale, he is training to become an EMT (Emergency medical technician), and is a contributor to the Yale Daily News and The Yale Herald.

In eighth grade, Schlossberg co-founded ReLight New York which raised more than $100,000 to install compact fluorescent lights in low-income housing developments.

In September 2012, he announced his intention to pursue a career in politics after college graduation.

In mid-July 1999, the family was coming together at their Hyannis Port, Mass., retreat for the wedding of RFK Jr.’s sister Rory Kennedy, the youngest child of assassinated Sen. Robert F. Kennedy.

RFK Jr.’s wife had visited JFK Jr. and Bessette a week earlier and Bessette told her that her husband was “so depressed” because he was fighting with his sister, Caroline, over furniture at the Martha’s Vineyard home that once belonged to their mother and had been left to them when Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis died in 1994. JFK Jr. was in the process of buying out his sister’s share in the Red Gate Farm estate.

Kennedy notes that “John confided to me also about how hurt he was by Caroline’s actions.” (Last spring, Caroline Kennedy, who is about to be sworn in as the US ambassador to Japan, put part of the estate on the market for $45 million.)

Kennedy also mentions JFK Jr.’s struggles with George magazine, which he co-founded, and the uproar caused when he invited Hustler publisher Larry Flynt to join his table at that year’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Sen. Ted Kennedy had written nephew John a “disappointed letter” about the decision and “John was hurt by that because his family is so important.”

Nat Lamp... You are correct, I have one of the original copies. Fat Boy threatened to sue and the issue was withdrawn after maybe a week on the news stands, but by then a few hundred thousand copies had gotten out, including mine. :O)

The Kennedy fan club has done more harm to the family than its enemies ever could.

That's OK. Ol' Teddy wouldn't mind a splash or two these days - and I don't mean Glenlivet...

At Yale, he is training to become an EMT (Emergency medical technician), and is a contributor to the Yale Daily News and The Yale Herald.

Going to Yale for EMT training? Good grief. That's like going to Balducci's for a pound of bologna. Don't get me wrong, my daughter's a paramedic, but what's this family's obsession with Yale? He could probably get the same quality of EMT training - probably better - from a state institution, but I guess that's not good enough for a Kennedy. Hey, maybe being Yale, they'll...y'know [little Caroline lingo there]...assist him along the way, since he's a Kennedy [gag].

I wonder what EMT level he's aiming for? There are four:

  1. EMT-B (Basic): Entry level. Not trained to provide definitive medical care, but instead focus on rapid in-field treatment and transport to higher medical providers.
  2. EMT-I/85 (Intermediate): Mid-level. A transition level, the EMT-I is not intended to deliver definitive medical care, but rather to augment prehospital critical care and provide rapid on-scene treatment. EMT-Is are most commonly employed in ambulance services, working in conjunction with EMTs and Paramedics.
  3. EMT-I/99 (Intermediate or Advanced, depending on the state certification): The EMT-I/99 level is the closest level of certification to Paramedic, and allows many techniques not available to the EMT-I/85 or EMT-Basic. These techniques include needle decompression of tension pneumothorax, endotracheal intubation, nasogastric tube placement, use of cardiac event monitors/ECGs, and medication administration to control certain cardiac Arrhythmias.
  4. EMT-P (Paramedic): Paramedics function as part of a comprehensive EMS response, under medical oversight. The paramedic is a medical professional who provides medical care at an advanced life support level in the pre-hospital environment, usually in an emergency, at the point of illness or injury. This includes an initial assessment, a diagnosis and a treatment plan to manage the patient's particular health crisis. Treatment can also be continued en route to a hospital if more definitive care for the patient is required. Paramedics provide advanced levels of care for medical emergencies and trauma.
Given the average intelligence level of the Kennedy clan, I'd say he'd better not aim any higher than EMT-B.

Ashes scattered at sea from a USN asset, if I remember correctly.
