Anti-Israel musician Roger Waters is at it again.
The former member of Pink Floyd, who has previously faced criticism for virulently anti-Israel statements and for using anti-Israel and anti-Jewish imagery in his shows, has compared Israel to Nazi Germany. The comments were made in an interview Waters gave Saturday to Frank Barat of the CounterPunch magazine.
Waters was asked what he would tell artists who say that culture should not be boycotted and who choose to perform in Israel, to which he replied, The situation in Israel/Palestine, with the occupation, the ethnic cleansing and the systematic racist apartheid Israeli regime is unacceptable.
So for an artist to go and play in a country that occupies other peoples land and oppresses them the way Israel does, is plain wrong, stated Waters. They should say no. I would not have played for the Vichy government in occupied France in the Second World War, I would not have played in Berlin either during this time. Many people did, back in the day. There were many people that pretended that the oppression of the Jews was not going on. From 1933 until 1946. So this is not a new scenario. Except that this time its the Palestinian people being murdered.

What is it with these utterly stupid azzes who don’t know squat about what is really going on in the world spewing their ignorant bile far and wide?
It wasn't a question of not playing for them, Roger. It was a question of putting your life on the line fighting them, which many people did do, "back in the day."
What a hero. /s
Yuh. We’re killing all the Palis, just like the Nazis. That’s how come if we don’t make piece with them they’ll soon outnumber us. Sure./sarc
He boldly didn’t play his songs and get a lot of cash. My hero.
LOL! Good one!
Here’s one for you, Rog:
We don’t need no pontification.
We don’t need no know-it-alls.
Hey! Waters! Leave those yids alone.
For all in all you’re just a
nother d*(*k with no balls.

Watch freep software destroy my lineation now.
I am confused.
With a high profile performer to be so openly antisemetic, one has to speculate at the orgin of his fury. May Waters has suspicion that he himself has jewish heiritage and is frustrated by this fact. Al Jazzera may find him a most useful brand of idiot.
I'm not that familiar with Pink Floyd, except for the first (mainly Syd Barrett) album "Piper at the Gates of Dawn."
He’s another oxygen waster.
Neither am I. The We Don’t Need No Education song is classic, though. Accompanying video, too. Then again, Heinrich Hein’s Tin Drum is also great. Doesn’t change the fact that he was an SS man. Artists suck. They believe creative talent gives them moral license, and that totally sucks. I’m a sometimes freelance writer and poet, but that doesn’t mean I’m allowed to be an a-hole, either. The day that I believe it does, I’ll stop producing.
Nazi Germany expanded their empire much like Islam is doing
They also practiced Taqiya just as audaciously, too. And they also had their backers among the artsy fartsy.
Syd Barrett was the sane one.
I think you mean Günter Grass for the Tin Drum.
Heinrich Heine was a 19th century German poet who was born Jewish and converted to Christianity, so he caught flak from both sides.
Oh, yeah. Gunter Gras. See how I got all this at my fingertips?/self-sarc
