I am a small businessman at ground zero. I dont need Obama, the Fed, economists, or the media to tell me how the economy is doing. I live it. And Im telling you, were all being lied to. The economy is not getting better, its getting worse.
Back in late 2007 and early 2008, I publicly predicted (numerous times) that we were entering the deepest recession since the 1929 Great Depression. At the exact moment I wrote about this, Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke was testifying in front of Congress that the economy was fine, we were not in recession, and there was little threat of a serious economic decline. It turned out he was dead wrong about everything. A small businessman always knows.

Reported the other day that 40% of the growth in jobs was new government employment which is work welfare.
So only 60% of what was reported as new jobs is real and probably a whole bunch is seasonal.
“Ben Bernanke was testifying in front of Congress that the economy was fine”
seriously, is there one person who believes Bernanke or yellen cares one wit about the economy outside manhattan or the hamptons?
did they get into this business to strengthen the Christian middle class?
The guy is right. Everything positive that’s being reported by the MSM about the current state of the economy is either skewed or false data and is an outright lie. I think Project Veritas should do a scoop and find out just how much they’re cooking the numbers and put it into a nice video production...: )
Restore the import tariffs. Put Americans back to work. Rebuild American Industry. Make America less dependent on foreign countries.
Just one of Obama’s countless perpetual and blatant lies.
The only ones who believe this president any longer are those with their hands out for a free payday, courtesy of the American taxpayer - and even THEY don’t believe, they’re just willing to hold their noses and look the other way for a fistful of cash.
You need more than tariffs to restore manufacturing in the US. The Govt declared war on mfg and employers and that needs to be reversed....
If we cared about American jobs, we wouldn’t be importing 1.2 million LEGAL IMMIGRANTS a year.
Evil on the Throne - Decency and Truth on the Gallows.
Government and unions.
True, closing the border would help. So would limiting H1b visas.
I don’t think the gov’t declared war on manufacturers. We do have safety, labor and environmental standards that are more expensive than foreign countries. That’s all the more reason to restore the import tariffs to equal the playing field.
Goldberg’s on O’Reilly and they are saying that this is 3.5%, not 41%.... rest are gov workers are reinstatements(sp) of shutdown.
I haven’t skulled through yet but they say MRC/CNS needs to apologize.
“The economy is not getting better, its getting worse.”
I know there are regional variations, but there is no question that here in the northeast it is much worse than five years ago. Construction projects are being canceled as the American population flees, unemployment is still high, and taxes are crushing those hanging on.
The Super Bowl will highlight the woes of this area more than anything else can: Giants Stadium is next to a mall (complete with indoor ski slope) that was finished years ago and never opened. In aerial shots it will be impossible to miss...
Now that you have let the cat out of the bag, the Drive-By Media will do their best to avoid showing the blight, or even better, have giant red arrows with “Bush’s Fault” pointing to the blight.
I have a small shop, co-founded it 20 years ago, and believe me the Govt declared war on us....your statement is emotional and not fact based.
Start a business, like me, and find out first hand. Cheers.
The facts are obscured but readily available; percentage of work force not employed, percentage receiving EBT (modern food lines), massive currency devaluation via the so-called Quantitative Easing, etc. But the sheeple listen to media happy talk and the lies spewing out of the White House instead of believing their eyes.
You can't print your way out of this mess.
Had a business. Federal gov’t shut us down. Small time federal bureaucrat making a name for themselves. Still don’t think government declared war on business.
“Now that you have let the cat out of the bag, the Drive-By Media will do their best to avoid showing the blight, or even better, have giant red arrows with Bushs Fault pointing to the blight.”
No doubt; I guess they’ll only show the stadium from one side during the Super Bowl...
Part of this is structural (jobs leaving for cheaper, unregulated environments overseas), while part of it is government-related. The problem is that the government is only making it worse; this pre-dates Obama but he is exacerbating it.
