Why Sarah Palin is here to stay
The Washington Post ^ | December 9, 2013 | MARY C. CURTIS

CHARLOTTE – Merry Christmas spoken here.

That could have been the slogan at Sarah Palin’s book-signing on Friday at the Billy Graham Library. As she greeted admirers, surrounded by the lights, trees and decorations, her message came across loud and clear.

“Absolutely,” said Tammy Vander Zee, 43 and a mother of two. “I work for a large corporation and I’m afraid to say it” — Merry Christmas that is. She said she admired how outspoken Palin is, and how she’s met being pro-life with her advocacy for special needs children, especially after having a son, Trig, who has Down syndrome. “She lives out her beliefs,” Vander Zee said of Palin. “That’s amazing in a political person these days.”

Whether or not you agree with Palin and her uncompromising views on what is wrong and right in America, she speaks for a lot of Americans who feel a little forgotten and a lot disrespected.

Between the Democratic Party, the Republican Party, the Libertarian Party, and Sarah Palin... the only one that really seems to genuinely come close to representing me, ideologically, politically and culturally, is Palin.

Sarah Palin is here to stay because she lives rent-free in the minds of deranged liberals.

I love the claims of how she’s stupid, mostly by people who are impressed only by where people go to college and not what they’ve actually done.

This commentary is a fur-ball that will sick in the craw of the WP for a long long time.

Most folks who know me here, know I’m not a big fan of Palin. I do find it delightfully funny how bat-s..t crazy she drives the Left.

One calls her ‘the poster girl’ of the stupid party. LOL, and look who they have for a president, and how he is destroying the nation, and yet they support him fully. Stupid party? What damage has Palin wrought? Her supporters support someone who voices support for our nation, what it has been and what it can be. Compared to what the other guy is selling, that’s unmistakably not stupid.

One calls her ‘a narcissist’. How someone can support one of the world’s leading narcissists and call her one, is beyond me.

The Left cracks me up. Then you remember what they are doing to this nation, and a slow boil grows at my core.

Urkle would be a better president than this imposter.

If you’ll notice, you’ve got a few big mouth knuckle draggers over there stinking up the place.

If the WP allows this commentary, it’s because they can see the handwriting on the wall. This president is in serious trouble.

People do connect to Palin. Oboingo is shedding them like a snake sheds it’s skin.

What “misstatements” about Obamacare?

Everything she said about it was spot on and said sooner and more clearly than by anyone else.

I am always stunned when some Lib, head stuffed with things they’ve gotten third-hand from the media, shrieks “oooooh, I just HATE her!” before breaking out into a full-fledged fit of Palin Derangement Syndrome.

She has been a private citizen for five years now. She merely posts her opinions on Facebook as all 300 million of us have a right to do. She takes care of her family and reacts graciously to her detractors. She has not made a political decision of consequence since 2008, and those she did make affected no one other than the 800,000 residents of Alaska.

On what grounds does anybody claim to HATE her?? Truly absurd.

...she speaks for a lot of Americans who feel a little forgotten and a lot disrespected.

Not forgotten, we are held in open, dripping disdain and told that we're going to toe the statist line or else. Our values are dismissed with contempt, our beliefs methodically sneered at, our insistence that politics be played by the rules routinely cheated and systematically circumvented. "Disrespected" is grossly understated. We're the enemy.

The hate campaign directed at Palin is directed at all of us, as sampling this article's comments illustrates. This isn't a case of vigorous political discourse, there's no discourse here, this is warfare, cultural, political, and when the time is right, it will be physical.

Only a fool would initiate violence at a time such as this, but only a bigger fool will be unprepared for it when it comes.

Agreed, the only good thing about his is that more and more people are openly admitting it now.

We should go over there and throw up a post referring to “President Palin” and watch heads explode.

Remember the good old days? When the most you had to worry about was having your car keyed for having a bumper sticker? Now, they’ll shoot you, unless it’s an Obastard bumper sticker. (In which case, I’ll laugh at you.)

There’s the difference: We laugh at them, and they shoot us.
