Some, especially on the left, are attempting to blame federal government dysfunction on the Constitution. An Annals of Law feature in the current New Yorker, by Jeffrey Toobin, is entitled Our Broken Constitution. Wrong. It is the federal government, not the Constitution, that is broken. The federal government has gone out of alignment with its nature as envisioned in the Constitution.

And in the Constitution itself resides the solution.

Let's get together and inform everyone we know about this bold move to save our republic. If you care, BE ACTIVE!

For those who want more this website offers numerous updates.

The Constitution gets “broken” when it is intentionally severed from its essential relationship with the principles laid down in the Declaration. This is what the Progressives always do. They want a dialogue on “the meaning of the Constituion” but they do not want to include the essential relationship of the two documents. . .any “dialogue” about the Constitution under those circumstances is seriously flawed.

When the Amendment capping Federal Spending at 17% of GDP gets up to 25 votes, Martial Law will be declared.

Great article...thanks for posting! Many excellent references.

If so the big political news of 2016 will not be about the presidential race. It will be about how nearly 100 citizen-legislators began a process that restored liberty to America. The big story is bigger than presidential politics.

The big story is Constitutional. It is a story about how liberty-minded Americans such as Sen. David Long, of Indiana, Rep. Chris Kopenga, of Wisconsin, Rep. Matt Huffman, of Ohio, Rep. Gary Banz, of Oklahoma, Sen. Caryn Tyson, of Kansas, Rep. Yvette Herrell, of New Mexico, and Sen. Kevin Lundberg, of Colorado (co-chairs of a coordinate Article V Caucus), and other state legislators such as Del. Jim LeMunyon, of Virginia, began the process of restoring liberty to our sweet land.

God bless these patriots. Also liked the mention of this...

"Two months ago, Marc Levin published a best-selling book, The Liberty Amendments, further validating the Article V process and drawing the important support of influential figures such as Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and, most recently, Glenn Beck."

One amendment we should have is that any rules proposed by federal agencies should be voted on by individual states, by legislatures or special votes of the people once a year.

We should have a say whether we want the sh*t sandwiches these agencies have been feeding us for decades.

How many of our freedoms have died by the death of a thousand cuts because of these special-interest controlled agencies?

One of the better and more reasoned articles on this effort. Thanks for posting it.

ANY future Democrat (Marxist) president would ignore any order imposing limits on spending, just as Barry has ignored and/or bypassed Congress on multiple occasions.

The current administration has desensitized America to the authority of Congress or the Legislative Branch.

United States Constitution to allow a super majority of states to rein in a power-drunk federal government.

Who wrote this wholly understated, egregiously inadequate description of the wanton, deliberate destruction of the United States of America? This sounds like any, every administration since the beginning of the Republic. Why is this illegal, bastard regime being spoken of with kid gloves?

Washington is run by lobbyist$ not legislators. The biggest overreach was the War on Terrorism which used workarounds to avoid a Congressional formal declaration of war. Used by Bush and Obama.

I hope the big news for 2016 is a third party to restore MADE IN AMERICA and exit world policeman

I just spoke with Washington Rep Cary Condratta. The next COS meeting is scheduled for May and will be held in the house Chambers of the State of Indiana where the capacity is close to 300.

There will be some statements coming out about the process that went on at Mt. Vernon, soon.

He said that one of the leaders, [Tea Party candidate] Wisconsin Rep. Chris Kapenga is a man to watch in the future. According to Condratta this young man is smart, articulate, well educated on the constitution.

The next two meetings of the COS will be to determine how state representation will be handled within the states and to create an open chronicle of what is going on at the convention meetings to keep the media propaganda in check wherever possible.

My concern is that like the Tea PArty, the media will get very busy painting the Article V as a dark process to take over America for wealthy racists.
