John Podesta, a former chief of staff to President Bill Clinton and a trusted Democratic operative, will join the White House staff as a senior counselor to President Barack Obama, two persons familiar with the move said late Monday.

Podesta will take his place at the White House at a critical time for Obama as his health care law tries to shake itself off from a disastrous enrollment rollout and as the president seeks to re-establish his agenda going into a midterm election year.

If Obama craters, the electorate will switch.
This is what made the 2008 election a slam dunk for the Rats.
Bush cratered and the electorate switched.

Podesta is a very bad dude—totally a Clintonoid.

Him being in the WH is no accident.

He is preparing groundwork for something.

Maybe Hillary being VP if Joe gets promoted, using the 25th amendment to get rid of Zero.

Who knows?

But I do know I do not like Podesta being anywhere near the White House.

Once was quite enough.

There’s no way Podesta and Jarrett can exist in the same space without trouble. He’ll get along with her about as well as Rahm did.

Flop sweat. They must be terrified if they’re reaching out to the Clintonista roster.

President Obama is hearkening to Bill Clinton days, calling on the former president’s chief of staff, John Podesta, to help sell some of his more controversial second-term agenda items and pave the way for better poll numbers.

Mr. Podesta has worked in a quiet, behind-the-scenes manner for Mr. Obama’s transition to office after the 2008 elections. But now he’s formally joining the inner circle in the White House, signing on to an adviser role for a year, The Washington Post reported.

Mr. Obama’s turn to Mr. Podesta comes at a critical time. The Obamacare rollout has proven a difficult mountain to climb, leading the president to shelve some of his other promised initiatives for a time, including immigration. The president’s also fighting a massive public relations battle, with recent polls showing the public neither trusts nor admires him to the same degree that swept him into office in the first place.

Absolutely.

The addition of Podesta is a direct affront to Jarrett.

There will be an explosion shortly because she knows where all the bodies are buried and will not relinquish power without a fight.

damage control for Odumbo. too much juvenille antics. Demorats want little manchild to grow up. Desparation on the part of Obama he needs to get the mojo back or his wet dream of the Obamareich is over

It suggests that Carney is not getting it done anymore.

Actually, it suggests Jarrett isn't getting it done.

My guess is that this came from someone behind the scenes (or several people) who warned Obama to get a grip. There are those more powerful than Obama or Jarrett.

And in typical Obama fashion, he didn't fire anyone (like Jarrett)...he'll just let them fight it out.

The difference is, Jay the Newskid can be fired, but Jarret can’t. Or won’t be, she knows far too much, and Obama could not function without her.

That's why I think the hiring of Podesta was not Obama's idea (and it certainly wasn't Jarrett's).

I don't know who has the ultimate controls in hand, but it isn't Obama.
