This youtube video was so powerful - I have not seen it before, but as a Vet, I think it should be seen by many more.

It’s been around for a while but it’s still uplifting. Thanks for taking the time to post it.

I've recently taken a job at a local nursing home. There are a few WW2 vets living there one in particular I've gotten to know. As might be expected the residents are very elderly, some have suffered stokes, are in various stages of Alzheimer's and dementia. “John’’ is a WW2 vet. He's a big man, stocky though bent with age and confined to a wheelchair it's plain to see that in his day John was a tall, rough ‘n’ tough two-fisted son of gun. On this past Veterans Day I introduced myself by pointing to his cap. It's one of those ball caps that says “World War Two Veteran. Army’’ He wears a Silver Star citation and two Bronze Stars, one with a star added for valor. John is a very quiet man. At first I thought he may have been unable to really communicate but he does talk a little bit. I said to him,”I like your cap’’, pointing to it he smiled at me. I said “What was your outfit?’’ That kind of perked him up a bit and he said, very quietly “10th. Armored’’. I said “Where you at Bastogne?’’. That really got his attention. I don't imagine anyone has ever asked him that, not in a long time I'm sure. He nodded his head ‘’yes’’. I said to him “Bastogne wasn't a very quiet, friendly little place when you were there, was it John’’? He gave a quiet chuckle and said softly, “Well, I could’ve thought of a million other places I'd preferred to be.'' As I always do with vets, especially WW2 vets I shook his hand and said "God Bless you John. And thank you for my freedom''.

and two Bronze Stars, one with a star added for valor.
A "V" device is added for Valor. The star represents a second award.
So he should be wearing one Bronze Star medal (or ribbon) with one star and one V device.
