Sen. Landrieu’s first ad: “What I said to the president is, you told them you could keep it”

While certain Democrats remain undaunted in their insistence that the whole lot of ‘em are totally, absolutely, unequivocally going to be running on ObamaCare in 2014 and using it “as an advantage,” other Democrats are clearly feeling a little more… well, daunted.

CLICK ABOVE LINK FOR THE VIDEO

When Sen. Landrieu learned that individuals who liked their health insurance could no longer keep it, despite the President’s promise, she wrote legislation to insure that the promise was kept. As a result, the President issued guidance allowing states and insurance companies to renew individual health plans for another year.

Dang. This is Landrieu’s first ad for the 2014 cycle, and she’s distancing herself from ObamaCare right out of the gate. I suppose there’s no point even pretending that there are other issues that will dominate over this one, particularly not in her state (Louisiana went for Romney by a whopping 17-point margin), so she might as well tackle it head-on. She certainly didn’t lead the charge to pass some kind of keep-your-plan legislation just for kicks, after all.

Sen. Landrieu’s first ad: “What I said to the president is, you told them you could keep it” (and then they both laughed. Good times, good times...)

So, the change is from "If you like your health care plan, you can keep it, PERIOD," to "If you like your health care plan, you can keep it for another year." Yeah, that ought to work. ROTFL.

The political strategy for the last 50 years, at least, has been to buy votes with largess from the public treasury. Just do more of that, you imbeciles.

Landrau should be thrown out of office even if she claims to be against Obamacare

I would remind folks how she pulled the wool over folks eyes with that phony sugar story she had planted in a newspaper on the eve of the last election she stole

Let’s all remember our most recent history....

Contrary to what Landrieu is spinning in her ad.... She was originally opposed to the public health insurance option in the America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009 (HR 3200) until the bill was rewritten to send a $300,000,000 payment to Medicaid for her home state.

When two pages were added to the bill to place $300 million in Louisiana’s Medicaid system, she changed her web page in order to reflect her support of the program.

The deal is now and will be always known as the Second “Louisiana Purchase”.

Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh even called her a “high-priced prostitute”.

On December 8, 2009, she also voted against the Nelson–Hatch–Casey amendment which proposed to ban federal funding for private plans that covered elective abortions but allowed individuals to purchase separate individual riders that would cover abortions.

On March 1, 2012, Landrieu voted against a measure that would have repealed a birth control mandate in the health care bill.

Of course, now that the bill SHE VOTED FOR has been founded to be a DISASTER, she then turned around and In October 2013, introduced a bill to force health insurance companies to re-issue plans which they have cancelled.

The woman has no principles at all.

Now that the Democrats have stopped blaming Bush for everything that goes wrong, apparently they’ve entered a new blame-Obama era.

But how can such a strategy be successful? The Republicans and most moderates of Louisiana won’t vote for Mary Landrieu because she voted for ObamaCare, no matter what the President might have promised; but now, the pro-Obama Democrats will be angry with her too for attacking their Messiah. And what will happen if the egomaniacal Obama attacks her back for daring to imply he’s not perfect?

she wrote legislation to insure that the promise was kept

BS

She wrote legislation so she could claim in her reelection campaign that "she wrote legislation to insure that the promise was kept."

==

It is an old trick politicians use to make them appear more palatable to the voters' interests and appear to distance themselves from bad policies and legislation.

Others in tight reelection races are doing the same thing.

Add this to a list of Landrieu hypocrisies:

“Senate Democrats voted unanimously three years ago to support the Obamacare rule that is largely responsible for some of the health insurance cancellation letters that are going out. In September 2010, Senate Republicans brought a resolution to the floor to block implementation of the grandfather rule, warning that it would result in canceled policies and violate President Barack Obama’s promise that people could keep their insurance if they liked it. On a party line vote, Democrats killed the resolution, which could come back to haunt vulnerable Democrats up for re-election this year. Senate Democrats like Mary Landrieu, Jeanne Shaheen, Mark Pryor, Kay Hagan and Mark Begich – all of whom voted against stopping the rule from going into effect and have since supported delaying parts of Obamacare.”

She's going to try and kick up a bunch of dust, every Rat trick in the book, but I really think she's done for.

-- btw- who would believe anything they say anyway? --

A surprisingly large number. City dwellers and the welfare class.

The only reason the DEMs are in any trouble is that the loot they promised from the public treasurey is not forthcoming. There are tens of millions of people in the US who favor big government over liberty. They fancy themselves to be big-hearted do-gooders.
