GOP Surrenders on Budget Deal (Senate Conservatives Fund email)
Senat ^ | 12/11/13 | Matt Hoskins

Fellow Conservatives:

The budget agreement announced yesterday increases spending, raises taxes, and funds Obamacare for two years. It has the support of President Obama, Harry Reid, and countless Democrats in Washington.

Mitch McConnell & Harry ReidWhat is Mitch McConnell doing to stop it? Nothing. In fact, McConnell was completely silent on the deal yesterday.

Mitch McConnell may vote against the deal so he can pretend to be a conservative, but don't be fooled. He wants the deal to pass. He made it clear that he won't fight the Democrats on spending and he forced his party to surrender.

It's so disappointing because now is the perfect time for Republicans to take a stand against Obamacare. The law is very unpopular and Democrats are running for cover. In fact, Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) just started a new TV ad distancing herself from Obamacare.

Thanks to your willingness to fight this terrible law, we're winning the debate. But the law isn't going to repeal itself. That will only happen if Republicans take a principled and courageous stand to stop it.

Ted Cruz and millions of Americans were right when they called on Congress to defund the law earlier this year.

American taxpayers should not be forced to pay for this train wreck.

Please join us in protesting this horrible budget agreement by telling Congress to DEFUND and REPEAL Obamacare.

Ted Cruz Was RightSign the petition and donate $10 or more to the Senate Conservatives Fund and we'll send you a "Ted Cruz Was Right" bumper sticker.

The GOP surrender on this latest budget deal makes one thing very clear. The only way to save our country is to replace establishment Republicans with true conservative leaders in 2014.

But Mitch McConnell says the Senate Conservatives Fund is counter productive. Yeah, to him! Because they're dedicated to electing people who won't vote for this crap...or work behind the scenes to get this crap passed while pretending to be against it.

Rand Paul and Ted Cruz have called this a surrender. They’re right.

It doesn’t even include the medicare “doc fix”!

Come January 1, reimbursements to doctors who see Medicare patients are slated to be slashed by more than 24%. Unless, that is, Congress chooses to renew the so-called “doc fix,” which averts scheduled cuts in doctor pay.

Heck, that’ll pass of course and there’s even more spending!

RINOs that survive preimaries need third-party candidates against them even if it throws the election to a Dem. It’s the only way to convince their donors that the spending increases will be stopped.

This is a GOLDEN opportunity for libertarians!
Someone take away their bongs long enough to explain that to them!

Boehner, Ryan, Cantor and all the rest of them are liars. This is a bad deal.

The Tea Party is the only solution remaining to save what is left of our Republic. Whenever i get a solicitation for money from Republicans, I send back the prepaid envelope EMPTY. Maybe they will stop bothering me anymore if it costs them money.

It is probably not correct to say the GOP surrendered. The GOP was right there shoulder to shoulder with its comrades with the Democrat label against the conservatives who still disable themselves with the Republican label.

Of course, their #1 goal was to avoid another shutdown.

I am surprised that Reid didnt demand more.

I get a kick out of Coburn and Rubio declaring solid opposition to this budget knowing Reid is passing this on 51 not 60.

Oh, and some of the cuts that dont take place till 2023 LOLO.
Heck, when he proposed that same scam for medicare it was like Moses parting the Red Seas to too many here.

There will be no defunding with the President in office, that aside there is still no reason to be able to again raise taxes and so forth.

Republicans will face intense pressure over unemployment benefits
BY GREG SARGENT

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/wp/2013/12/11/republicans-will-face-intense-pressure-over-unemployment-benefits/

[snip] The imminent expiration of the Emergency Unemployment Compensation program for 1.3 million Americans is mostly being treated as a fait accompli in Washington... (Dems have created an interactive map showing how many people in each state stand to lose benefits.)... This strategy includes placing Op ed pieces by Democrats in papers that serve the districts of top Republicans, such as this one by Rep. Sander Levin in the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, the largest paper in John Boehner’s home state. The game plan is granular: One Democrat points out to me that stats are available on how many would lose benefits on the county level, and that Dems are trying to push these numbers into the coverage, because it is tangible for people in local communities. [/snip]

Can’t wait for their fun raising letters. They might as well send them to Obamas team.

If you want proof that we are screwed look no further than this “deal” that does not even cut half of one percent of our budget over the next 10 years. We are trillions in debt and it will get worse and we cant even cut a few billion off the top. They want to spread out less than one percent over 10 years.

We have entered the twilight zone.

The Federal Government is now the Oral Office and the Senate. The House has been totally wiped out. The main thing that the Democraps wanted was to defuse the budget as a campaign issue next year. So the Republicans tentatively agreed to make this an interim Budget to get us past the 2014 elections.

Doesn't this sound familiar? Remember how the DEMOCRAPS got BONEHEAD to agree on Raising the Debt Limit? Just push it past the next election (2012).
