Tea Party groups in the 8th Ohio Congressional District will host a forum at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, to ask questions of the primary candidates for Speaker of the House John Boehner’s Congressional seat.

The forum, as well as a straw poll, will be at Crestview Baptist Church, 6600 Salem Ave. in Clayton. The forum is being hosted by the Preble County Tea Party and West Chester Tea Party, in conjunction with the Dayton and Cincinnati tea parties and several other groups.

Candidates invited and attending include Matthew Trisler, Don Carter, Eric Gurr and J.D. Winteregg. Boehner declined to attend, and Democratic opponent Tom Poetter was invited but Tea Party officials said there was no response.

Candidates will be allotted time for opening statements and will be asked several questions on policy and political issues.

After the forum, attendees will be asked to vote in a straw poll of the candidates. Only Tea Party members who reside in the 8th Congressional District will receive a ballot. Drivers licenses will be checked on arrival to obtain a ballot.

..."Drivers licenses will be checked on arrival"

Man, is that 'legal' in this country?

If Boehner were a serious candidate he would be there, but he isn’t. He will depend on the low info Republican voters to be put back into his seat.

I wish them all the best in overcoming the Bonehead's millions and the likelihood of vote fraud favoring the incumbent. God willing.

BONER should be ‘term limited’ in NOV... I DON’T CARE WHO WINS. I hope the entire “LEADERSHIP” loses their elections, I don’t care if they are RATs, because we can afford to lose those worthless “leaders” and overcome the number deficit with RATs we’re going to kick out from their incumbent seats in Nov.

After his vile comments recently, we can only wish Boehner can and would be upended in a primary. But the chances of Boehner losing in a primary are as likely as palm trees spring forth in my hometown of Cincinnati. It's simply not going to happen. Boehner has raised money like no other Speaker in history - even Pelosi. Tens of millions of dollars sit in his Leadership PAC. He will decimate any and all of his Primary foes in the same way Romney had to reach into his own pocket during the GOP primaries and slaughter foes with round the clock attack ads on TV and Radio. It's what elevated Romney to win Primary states where he was running behind everyone else a week before voting day in Iowa, Michigan, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania. This is exactly what Boehner will do, and it will work the same way. On top of that, the GOP in Ohio will NEVER allow the sitting Speaker to lose in its own Primary. they will make life VERY difficult for opponents: missed paperwork, missed filing deadlines. There is much the Ohio GOP can and will do to assist Boehner. They cannot suffer the humiliation as a party if they allow their own Speaker go down to defeat.

The true way to discard Boehner in 2014 is to vote for the Democrat who runs against him. It would be astounding to have revealed that Boehner lost to a Democrat because a majority of Conservatives opted to oust him in the only means they had: side with his opponent. This is how the late William Buckley got Joe Lieberman elected in Connecticut: Buckley advised an open protest vote against RINO Lowell Weicker. It worked.

You’re missing the point. Make him SPEND that money instead of taking it with him as a golden parachute when he retires.

Hopefully Boehner won’t get 99 percent from his voting public in 2014. I think that is why he is a bit arrogant. When you win the votes by such a wide margin, it makes you think you are infallible.

Support Eric Gurr to oust John Boehner in OH-8

Also, press your Representative to NOT support Boehner for Speaker - or Ryan, either!

If the TEA party was smart they would be placing conservatives in the RAT party. Putting a faux liberal in the democrat primaty and running him against Boner in the general.

” - - - Boehner declined to attend - - - “

What is the surprise?

If there is not free Kleenex tissues at the function, why would the Sobber of the House Boehner attend?

Boehner wins big because the Democrat Party tells the Democrat voters to keep Boehner in the House as a shill for Markist Democrats.

Obama could never have been as successful as he has been without the jellyfish-spined Boehner, the Marxsist Democrat’s meal ticket!

For all the good that Boehner’s done, we might as well take a molding of the likeness of his face, and put it to a new crop of “store-front Indians”!!!

In order to take advantage of Obama's declining numbers with America's youth, Republicans need to get the dour and inarticulate Boehner and McConnell out of leadership positions!!

Who listens to them?? In their own way, they are as inarticulate as Pelosi and Reid! And, that's saying something!!

As long as Boehner and McConnell are allowed to be the "voices" of Republican leadership in the Congress and Senate, youth will not be inspired, and this potentially history-changing moment will pass without the excitement and celebration it deserves in the history books.

Neither will they be exposed to articulate explanations of why the ideas and principles of America's Declaration of Independence and Constitution are the only ideas and principles which can rescue American citizens from certain further loss of freedom!

The Chicago Machine has a hell of a vote fraud scheme in Ohio. They promised boner he’ll be re-elected.

Agree, Boehner is so vile he needs to be defeated, even if it means a Democrat takes the seat.
