Perfect Storm Of Pointless: MSNBC’s Finney Interviews MSNBC’s Perry About Fox News’ Kelly ...
The Right Scoop ^ | 12/14/2013 | Caleb Howe

Posted on 12/14/2013 7:50:48 PM PST by absentee

Today on Disrupt with Karen Finney on MSNBC, MSNBC's Finney brings on special guest MSNBC's Melissa Harris-Perry to discuss the story of Megyn Kelly's Fox News story about whether the story of Santa Claus is a story about some old white guy or rather, instead, should be a story about a penguin in a hat.

[Non-embeddable video was here]

The point of this pointless conversation is that everyone should be willing to "have that conversation" because it's "worth having a conversation about" due to the fact that there are a lot of "interesting Santa conversations to be had." It's a FACT!! The conclusion host Finney draws from this conversation about conversations worth having is "who cares?" Who cares, or has any idea what is going on anymore, indeed, Mrs. Megyn Finney-Perry Claus.

[snip] And now, here we are, and I have written a pointless post about a pointless interview about a pointless controversy about a pointless article about a non-existent problem with an existence-to-be-determined ...

"What we have here ... is failure to communicate."

At least failure to communicate anything interesting.

I love Megyn babe and I hope from this she learned to stay away sure trivial meaningless subjects.

Last night (Friday) she felt forced to bring on two black guests and explain to them what she ‘really meant’ the other night.

Is this all you could find to talk about Meg??

You know the “media” has gone to hell when one “media” idiot interviews another “media” idiot over something that someone else in the “media” said. Geeesh. Finny and Perry really need to find themselves real jobs.

Finny and Perry really need to find themselves real jobs.

Much like their beloved Dear Leader, Harry, and Nancy, neither is qualified to do anything productive.

I say Nelson Mandela should no longer be Black, because it might make my White children feel like only Blacks can be civil rights leaders.

Let's quantify just how pointless this was:

Loser MSNBC host average November rating 119,000 viewers and 39,000 in the demographic preferred by advertisers.

Megyn Kelly's average November rating 2.5 million viewers, and 340,000 in the demo.

Two MSNBC losers having a discussion of a prime time Fox News host is an answer to the question about a tree falling in a forest with no one to hear.

Remember, MSNBC means “Mindless Shit Nothing But Crap”.

Now you know why their other name is “The Loser Channel”.

I don't ordinarily bother with anything on MSNBC but I watched the clip out of morbid curiosity. What a moronic discussion. Santa is "white" because St. Nicholas was "white," i.e., a bishop in what is today Turkey. Whether he was ethnically Greek or something else, I don't know, but we generally regard Turks as "white." Or at least I always have. Just as Jesus, a first century Jew, was "white," although exactly which crayon you should pick out of the Crayola box is an open question, as "white" is not all the same.

This is not a complicated question. So ... it is astonishing to see two network jabberers go on about this without once referencing the historical roots of the characters. There is a perfectly appropriate discussion to be had about cross-cultural adaptation of historical figures who have acquired symbolic importance. The European adaptation of symbols is a perfectly good example. Our typical representations of St. Nick and Jesus are both probably whiter than the originals, and I would be the last person to grouse about other groups doing the same ... but in all cases, we should begin with the historical roots.
