Biased Reporter Uses His Media Job to Force City To Take Down Nativity Scene
Mr. Conserrvative ^ | 12/14/13

A reporter for a small Florida newspaper decided that he wanted to see if he could get the city of Chipley to remove its nativity scene from public property because he claims it is somehow against the US Constitution. There is that unbiased media we are so in love with, eh?

Reporter” Randal Seyler of the Washington County News decided to try and use his position in the media to destroy a community nativity scene when he noticed that the decoration was put up at city hall.

This biased, troublemaker ran to city hall and warned them he was going to start causing problems for the city if they didn’t remove the nativity scene.

Chipley Mayor Linda Cain was not interested in Seyler’s anti-Christmas crusade, though, so he ran to a militant atheist group that loves to file frivolous lawsuits against cities all across America.

This “reporter” contacted a militant group called the Freedom From Religion Foundation which in turn sent letters to the city of Chipley threatening them over the traditional display.

Mayor Cain released a statement saying, “Seyler made a comment that the nativity scene was unconstitutional and should be removed and I asked him to leave it alone.” And has also said she and the city council will not comply with the threats from the atheist group.

I look for this reporter not to be found in the Chipley area soon.

I won't play games in Chipley

I think the reporter is doing a short on-site story about people who got lost in the Everglades and were never found.

So far, I don’t think he’s been successful. At least in this case, the Mayor doesn’t panic and immediately surrender, like that Naval Base did the other day, taking the Nativity Scene down because of a few career complainers.

So, if 2 or 3 people complain, they take that as a threat and remove the nativity? What if 50 or so complained that they were offended because it was removed? What is the outcome of that scenario if those of the larger group want it to remain?

I sometimes think Americans are just too passive and let these things get past them without being aware that they, too, have a voice and need to fight back! (verbally, of course).

Chipley is nowhere near the Everglades; he must be checking on family members’ stories.

50% of parents can complain about something offensive at a school and be ignored, but if 1 leftist parent demands something, they get their way.

Its unfortunate and unwise the increase in America today of Jews openly attacking Christianity

Like this Seyler fellow or Mikey Weinstein or even the local Jewish lady in my children’s school district in TN who made a stink 3 years ago and now the call it Winter Holiday and no religious carols etc

Yet they still call Jewish and other religious holidays what they are

Her child was one of 2 Jewish kids out of 800 enrollment

The other Jewish boy and several Hindu and Nissan..families.....Shinto ...said nothing..

I’m tired of this garbage

Call the newspaper editor and ask them how a nativity scene hurts anyone and let them know what their idiot reporter is doing to hurt their reputation and that what he’s doing is going to give them bad press on a nationwide basis. He’ll be canned. End of story.

That same American passivity has allowed conservatives to lose control of the traditional marriage argument, at least for now. Some of our finest legal minds have found it difficult. Until very recently, maybe 15 years ago, nobody across the land ever thought one would have to develop a suitable legal polemic and functional philosophy to justify keeping marriage as to man and woman exclusively. No law schools trained their lombards to fight effectively from that perspective. It will be up to the next wave or generation of legal experts to figure out how this can be justified today. Obviously, that gay marriage is against some Christian’s religion means nothing these days, unless we design a new approach. I predict we will. There may be a new name legally adopted for male/ female marriages.

So, was the Nativity Scene taken down or not? Title says it was.
