I somehow failed to pass this along to the Freepers. Good news for those active in the gun rights field.
De facto guide to gun control myths now online and mobile
14 years of debunking information now on every smartphone
Gun Facts Online, Mobile, Anti-Agitprop The top guide to debunking gun control myths is now in your pocket
San Francisco, CA December 13, 2013: Gun Facts, the de facto reference for debunking gun control propaganda has been reborn into a mobile-ready web site, just in time to combat the next wave of gun control intellectual abuse.
We have escalated our efforts to drive the Brady Campaign bonkers, said Guy Smith, editor of Gun Facts. For 14 years we have been educating the public about gun control buncombe, much to Michael Bloombergs dismay. Now the gun control industry has to worry about facts being infinitely portable. www.GunFacts.info
For over a decade, Gun Facts has been a freely available e-book (as well as a popular print book) that categorizes gun control topics, then lists lies told by gun control groups. All that content has now been placed online at a mobile-ready web site, putting facts at the fingertips of anyone with a smartphone or tablet computer.
Gun control policy wonks have carried Gun Facts as a PDF file on their phones, said Smith. But now that smart phones are ubiquitous, it was time to change the format, let Google make finding the info easier, and put it on every iPhone and Android handset.
For each piece of anti-gun agitprop, Gun Facts provides debunking data and over 530 detailed footnotes citing reliable, independent sources (criminologists, government studies, etc.). Anyone can now instantly look-up a gun control industry lie and find rock-solid data to discredit the misinformation.
Dishonest politicians like the ones recently removed in Colorado are going to have it really rough now, said Smith. Every voter will have nearly two decades of research at their fingertips at every town hall meeting. Woe to the candidate who parrots gun control talking points in public when everyone can instantly refute their misinformation on the spot.
In production for nearly 14 years, Gun Facts has earned a large following of people who use it daily to defeat gun control initiatives. The Gun Facts e-book whose content is now online has been downloaded into over 165 countries around the globe and has become the de facto reference for educated people who prefer honest gun control policy discussions.
We pass information to sane and thoughtful people, said Smith. Gun Facts is for every man and woman fed-up with intellectual cads misleading the masses that would be you Mister Bloomberg, Missus Brady and Ms. Robyn Thomas. This is why the Gun Facts e-book is downloaded over 58,000 times in slow months. The information is valuable and the price free is popular.
Gun Facts covers topics ranging from assault weapons to concealed carry to gun controls failure around the world. In every topic web page, Gun Facts lists each canard cast by the gun control industry. Voters can search the site (or the PDF book) to instantly find a lie and the facts that uncloak it.
If Chuck Schumer or Josh Sugarmann thought I was slowing down, then they are thinking as poorly as they always do, said Smith. Some fights are eternal, so now Gun Facts will be updated in real-time and be more viral than ever.

Heard a priest this weekend claim 30,000 people died of gun violence since Sandy Hook. Anyone have the facts so I can call him on it?
Check the Gun Facts web site for details, but of the 30,000:
a) 61% were suicides
b) Includes justifiable homicides
c) Includes accidents, including hunting accidents
Thanks. Added to my ongoing data for the next assault, er I mean legislative session.
Ask the priest to provide the statistics and his sources.
How about knives, clubs, hands and other methods?
Ask the priest if he needs a license to practice his faith.
If you do a search there are multiple sites that have a "clock" or counter showing that number.
This crackpot group, Stop Handgun Violence, claims even more:
This source claims just over 11,000:
Thanks for the links. Not a lot of detail or stats. I wish I could find some govt stats because I doubt he’ll believe anything else.
That is about right for deaths by firearm in the US in a year. ... If you include suicides and people lawfully killed by firearms while committing felonies (eg police and civilians defending themselves.) Take those out and the number of wrongful deaths is less than half that. Of course, they won’t talk about the 1 to 5 million legal defensive uses of firearms each year. Take away our ability to defend ourselves and there will be literally hundreds of thousands more violent attacks, rapes, and murders. This is backed by fact. Every place that has enacted strict gun control has seen sharp long term rises in their rates of violent attacks and murders. That’s right lib lurkers, take away guns and there will be more murders. Not a guess, historical fact. What do you think would happen when violent criminals realize their potential victims are suddenly nearly defenseless? Yeah, doesn’t take a genius to figure that one out. So as bad as a few thousand dead are each year, it beats a few tens of thousands dead.
The 2nd link quotes CDC as their source for gun-related deaths, though we wouldn’t have access to the raw data and how they culled-out the stats. Best I can do for ya...
Why should I do a search? It is the priest who should provide factual information, not I. Furthermore, I do not have a dog in the fight between you and the priest.
CDC data online for everybody:
Don't. I didn't ask you to.
Furthermore, I do not have a dog in the fight between you and the priest.
Never said you did.
Those are extrapolations. Not concrete numbers.
For the “Gun Talk” list: Gun Facts Online, Mobile, Anti-Agitprop.
It is published on the Department of Justice web site but the data is usually two years old because of the analysis performed to create the publication.
Total murder and non-negligent manslaughter, 2011: 13,993
Total murder and non-negligent manslaughter, 2012: 14,168
From the FBI Uniform Crim Reports, Table 8
Total weapons used, all firearms 2011: 8,653
Total weapons used, all firearms 2012: 8,855
Suicides are a separate issue. If people cannot get guns, they substitute another method. Several studies show this.
The priest is a liar or ignorant. Take your pick.
