Posted on 12/15/2013 12:41:44 PM PST by bigbob
House Budget Committee Chairman Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) misled his colleagues in the House of Representatives about several major areas of the budget deal he cut with Senate Budget Committee Chairwoman Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA), Breitbart News has learned.
Misrepresentations include serious budget details ranging from how much deficit reduction is actually in the plan to how spending in this plan compares to spending if the current law, the Budget Control Act (BCA), remains the law of the land.
The budget deal passed the House 332-94 on Thursday evening, with 169 Republicans voting for it and 62 Republicans voting against it. The GOP support was thanks to Ryans selling of the plan among his colleagues, who largely trust him despite many figures of the conservative movement turning against him. Now, it turns out, Ryan used a series of statements whose veracity is questionable at best to convince his colleagues to support the bill.
Ryans claim, for instance, that this plan ends up resulting in $23 billion in total deficit reduction is not true. Ryan and Murray did not ask the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) to estimate interest payments on the $63 billion in increased spending that will need to be borrowed for the first couple of years of the budget. As such, the CBO score does not represent the full financial picture of the plan.
A Senate GOP aide with direct knowledge of these matters whom Breitbart News contacted estimated the interest payments over the course of the 10-year budget window on the $63 billion that will need to be borrowed to be approximately $8 billion. That means the plan increases spending by $71 billion and only includes $15 billion in deficit reduction in the out years of the budget window.

"While the deal does have a net $85 billion in savings to replace the sequester, only $51 billion of that total comes from what Ryan describes as specific, concrete spending cuts. The other $34 billion comes from fee and revenue increases."
Since when do "fee and revenue increases" constitute a spending cut?
Paul Ryan LIED just like the O man
The “conservative” HOR passed it before they read it because they trust Ryan??
I get frustrated with our side when we insist on “perfect” candidates, yet I gladly voted for Paul Ryan, and hoped he would become a future President. Now he seems to be just another political sell-out who will use the same tactice Pelosi and Reid used to shove Obamacare down our throats.
It’s damned disappointing.
singing my song
I think Ryan did well to avoid income tax hikes, the holy grail for Dems.
Paul Ryan’s quid pro quo is mega GOP-E money fo
r the 2016 Iowa primary

Do any of these idiots ever read a bill before they vote on it!!
Ryan is a menace.
I’d guess at the most 62 of them did...
By funding obamacare for the next two years they eliminated any chance of taking the senate in 2014 and could lose their majority in the House!
Recall that he’s a also a sellout on immigration. I had thought he was the better half of the Romney/Ryan ticket but I, too, was wrong.
He seems to be positioning himself on the left in order to represent the current GOP as their nominee in 2016. Jeb Bush will now have to swerve even farther left to compete with him. Go far enough left and, sooner or later, both will collide with Christie.
More lies from the buffoons on the hill. This is really going to cost us, our children and our grandchildren. But hey! Barry and the ‘RATS “won”! The GOOBs need to bend over for them because they are the “minority”! Americans really need to find some more warriors like Cruz and Lee to help defend us from the money grabbers from BOTH parties on the hill.
Same here. So many of those I thought conservative now seem to be Judases.
The House Republicans have shown themselves to be as bad as Senate Republicans when it comes to capitulation to the left.
He’s been dead to me for a good while now. He’s up the poop shute of No-balls Boner.
Ryan wants to be Speaker. He isn’t going to run for POTUS in 2016.
Even if this wasn’t a lie, we’re talking about $78B OVER TEN YEARS. The Fedgov snorts $78B like a line of coke at a Vegas afterparty.
Are you kidding me?
Ryan is a greater disappointment than Boner....Boehner.
I believe he is looking past Boehner.
Positioning himself to b the McCain of the House.
That’s right, give up, don’t fight because we don’t have a chance?? Cowardly bastard!!!
How far he has fallen.
And income tax hikes NO part of the discussion which is a small miracle with a socialist Senate and WH and Patty Murray leading negotiations.
Congressman Ryan: YOU LIE!
“.. Twisted Truth...” is that anything like lying? Gosh Mister Ryno you wouldn’t lie would you Mister Ryno ‘cause that would make you no different than Obama, right Mister Ryno?
Hey bb, I feel your frustration. Same thing I went thru when I found out my own big time No. 1 guy, Allen West, supported AND voted for that Nazi Germany style NDAA thing. (The indefinite detention of American citizens in/on our own homeland if you are ‘suspected’ by the Fed’s of some sort of ‘terrorist’ activity. AND they can pull this off without us being provided an attorney, a jury, a judge or any due process........indefinitely). It hurts when you find out a candidate, or possible candidate, you are for supports a full blown Nazi/Commie style deal. It really does.
I thought Ryan was a great hope.
But the GOP simply doesn't understand they war they are in!
Tax (or fees or whatever) increases NOW and spending or tax cuts sometime later
Cheese and rice, any 6th grader could figure that out!!!
but now he has to ‘work’ with boner.
plus if you didn’t know, ryan was once an intern to no-balls boner.
Get ready for thousands of increased fees, genius...
Just bought some airline tickets :
Base Fare $442.80
Excise Taxes $ 33.20
Segment Fee $ 39.00
Passenger Facilities Fee $ 36.00
Sept 11 Security Fee $ 20.00
Welcome to bipartisan shafting...
A tax increase by any other name...
What agreement with the Democrats have ever been honored by them when they get the first take? Ryan is a sucker. The military gets kicked in the teeth AGAIN. Really?? Wake up!!!
I know this is an old thread, but our local Cincy area Tea Party/conservative political organizer said on the radio this morning, the thing that really frustrates her is the lack of communicating ability from our side...let me explain.
Boehner and Ryan could have said what they would have liked but didn’t have any chance of getting...instead, they just lash out. For example, we wanted x,y, and z and are in favor of these cuts and those cuts, etc., but...
None of that was said so we’re left with thinking that they actually are NOT in favor of such cuts...
Yeah, I know, it appears Boehner isn’t on our side. I simply wanted to point out I agree that our side really has a problem clarifying the vision differences between liberals and conservatives...Rush is good at it, Cruz is, Levin, etc., but it seems the rest of the lot is just as good at communicating as Bush was.
