Dick Morris: Boehner Eats His Young With Attacks on Conservatives
Newsmax ^ | December 15, 2013 | Dick Morris

Posted on 12/15/2013 2:03:12 PM PST by Hojczyk

The Republican Party has always represented a fusion of two broad groups: those who are driven by ideology and those who grew up in geographic areas that are traditionally Republican and joined the party because it was the obvious way to enter politics.

Call them the Nixon Republicans, these folks live in suburbs or small towns and represent the equivalent of the urban big city machines that spawn and nurture Democrats.

But this party could not get elected. It would not have defeated Jimmy Carter in 1980 or elected Ronald Reagan. It would not have been the vehicle for the Gingrich Revolution of 1994, nor would it have taken the House in 2010.

It required a Reagan, a Newt Gingrich, a Ted Cruz, a Paul Ryan, a Mike Huckabee, or the like to animate it, fill it with ideas and carry it to victory.

For Boehner to cast aside these party enthusiasts and conservative workhorses is shortsighted and ungrateful in the extreme.

The tea party types are amateurs. They are small businesspeople, retired military, doctors and so forth that are professionals in their occupations but amateurs in politics. We need to be patient with their learning curve. They learned a lesson in October when the government shutdown backfired. And they won’t make that mistake again. Indeed, their basic acceptance of the Ryan-Murray deal indicates precisely that growth of perspective and maturity.

In this light, the Speaker’s comments are outrageous and cast real doubt on his ability to lead the House in the future.

Morris is mostly wrong in his public statements, but this time, he is right. BONER is a moron RINO with mental problems that is giving away America for his own gains.

Not a profound statement, but he should be history when his election comes around.

I do take Moris with a large grain of salt. From time to time he gets it fairly right. It’s just that you can’t recommend his views to anyone, because he’s more likely to spout something entirely wrong and misleading on a regular basis.

Congress has become a cesspool of liars, thieves, inside traders, traitors, drunks, criminals, and other low level swine who will do and say anything in order to be continually re-elected.

It’s time that we, the American voter, cleaned house starting with Mr. Boner.

Morris got part right and part wrong.

He is right about Boehner being a Moron. He is wrong about the Tea party learning a lesson in the October shutdown.
The shutdown was a win in a way, Cruz and the party were willing to settle for a one year suspension of Obamacare.
We didn’t get it so Obamacare came on, then Obama had to suspend it. Now the Democrats own it Lock, Stock, and Barrel. Let them eat it.

If Morris thinks the Tea party has accepted Ryan -Murray he is full of sh*t.

He is right about Boehner being a Moron, but Boehner has a ton of GOP e’ers who share that title with him.

Can someone tell me what this means: “the shutdown backfired.”

From my observation of political reporting, the theme was “the shutdown was the Republicans’ fault.” But if breathing was the only crime that could be pinned on Republicans, they would be accused of breathing.

What exactly are Republicans accused of hurting by the govt “shutdown?”

Bonehead fails to realize he would not be speaker except for the 2010 Tea Party managing to win a majority of House seats.

Bonehead fails to realize he would not be speaker except for the 2012 Tea Party who decided not to unseat him as speaker.

Bonehead OWES the Tea Party, big time!

I supported Boner till he began attacking conservatives. He would get more support from us if he would use his wrath on liberals like Pilousy and dirty Harry. Who would like to replace him? Those attackin conservatives should either shut up or face the consequences. Unions replace elected officials who attack them. Why can’t the Tra party do likewise?

I lost any respect for him at the “long-ago” debt ceiling deal that led to sequester.

I’ve never liked Boehner. He’s a strange, overly emotional man who is not conservative.
