I imagine the Pope will be mentioned...
Rush increased his audience...by one Pope.
Does it bother people that he’s talking about the Pope? I’m enjoying it myself. The Pope keeps opening himself up to these criticisms.
I’m in and working from home today. Thankfully, Buford is sleeping soundly on the couch....
I hope that the Pope’s response was not really as Rush stated in the opening. I can’t imagine any Religous leader thinking that there are “plenty of good Marxists.”
I am not a Catholic, so I try to be sensitive to those that are practicing Catholics. However, this Pope’s comments are very worrisome to me. That said, I do think that this is one of the falliabilities of man. As a non-Catholic, I can only guess that Catholocism recognizes this risk.
Man is not perfect, which is why we have individual relationships with God.
He did say that the article was on FR yesterday.
IN THE ARMS OF ANGEL
I’m a Catholic and his remarks bother me too. And there’s nothing wrong with any of us expressing our concern. What really bothers me is that he constantly has to update his comments or retract them. Maybe he’s just not ready for prime time. I like the old popes of my childhood who never appeared on tv and seemed deeply removed from the modern world and somewhat mystical.
My biggest concern is the empowerment that these comments will give to the left..
Think of the 80’s. We had a very powerful alignment that freed 100’s of millions of poeple. Between Reagan, Thatcher and Pope John Paul II it was an alliance that was very powerful. Now we have Obama, the global media and maybe Pope Francis....
That is rather frightening in the face of this agreement with Iran, whose leader is a believer that he is in power in order to usher in the 12th Imam.....
speaking about the Pope, my local archdiocese today is getting a new Archbishop, Leonard Blair.
Forces are re-aligning in various ways, which are not very comforting for the future.
I'm feeling it too.
I agree! I’m still willing to give Pope Francis a break but he needs to either speak clearly or not at all!!
I will include him in my prayers.
EXACTLY, which has been a contention of mine. It startles me how many Pope apologists have excused, and even welcomed, his lack of clarity - as a defense.
You are saying that the left is “honoring” or “defending” the Pope. I think it is more like “using” him! They have no honor and are more than happy to throw their friends under the bus, so I am sure that they are simply using him.
We need to pray that he will not allow for them to use him for much longer. When they use the Pope, they use the entirety of the Church. I’m sure that Nancy P would be filled with glee at such a notion....
I’m not Catholic, but I sort of had the Popes number when he was first elected. No pope will please Cathlolics perfectly. If its not something like this, they are too loosey goosey with doctrine. I’m old enough to remember John XXIII. Most were gaga for him, but I think some thought he wasn’t strict enough on doctrine. John Paul II came the closest to pleasing everybody, I think.
I hate the transfat ban. KFC just doesn’t taste the same...I used to treat myself every few months, but now it is just too disappointing....
I have a 30 year stockpile of incandescent bulbs. It is mostly made up of 100w bulbs, but I have a few 60w bulbs too!
If you need them, you can do a search at farm supplies for “incandescent warmers.” They still need them for incubating eggs for hatchlings....
Worse, raising the minimum wage increases unemployment. The last time it happened was 2007 and that was the straw that broke the camels back...throwing us into the recession...
If we raised it to $352 an hour, we would all be millionares in a year! WoooooHooooo! Then we could all live on high times for the rest of our lives!
Well, thank you. I have an arachnologist friend who also hoards incandescent bulbs even though he’s environmentally conscious. He likes the heat for certain tasks, drying things out, etc.
