Does it bother people that he’s talking about the Pope? I’m enjoying it myself. The Pope keeps opening himself up to these criticisms.
To: Biggirl
I’m in and working from home today. Thankfully, Buford is sleeping soundly on the couch....
I hope that the Pope’s response was not really as Rush stated in the opening. I can’t imagine any Religous leader thinking that there are “plenty of good Marxists.”

I am not a Catholic, so I try to be sensitive to those that are practicing Catholics. However, this Pope’s comments are very worrisome to me. That said, I do think that this is one of the falliabilities of man. As a non-Catholic, I can only guess that Catholocism recognizes this risk.
Man is not perfect, which is why we have individual relationships with God.

I’m a Catholic and his remarks bother me too. And there’s nothing wrong with any of us expressing our concern. What really bothers me is that he constantly has to update his comments or retract them. Maybe he’s just not ready for prime time. I like the old popes of my childhood who never appeared on tv and seemed deeply removed from the modern world and somewhat mystical.

My biggest concern is the empowerment that these comments will give to the left..
Think of the 80’s. We had a very powerful alignment that freed 100’s of millions of poeple. Between Reagan, Thatcher and Pope John Paul II it was an alliance that was very powerful. Now we have Obama, the global media and maybe Pope Francis....
That is rather frightening in the face of this agreement with Iran, whose leader is a believer that he is in power in order to usher in the 12th Imam.....

speaking about the Pope, my local archdiocese today is getting a new Archbishop, Leonard Blair.

I agree! I’m still willing to give Pope Francis a break but he needs to either speak clearly or not at all!!
To: miss marmelstein
I will include him in my prayers.
