Who Tops Cruz in Early Iowa 2016 Poll?
dailycaller.com ^ | 12/16/2013 | Alexis Levinson

Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan is the most popular of the would-be 2016 Republican contenders among Iowa Republicans, handily outstripping his potential competition in the state that holds the first nominating contest every four years, according to a new poll.

...

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, on the other hand, sits at the bottom of the pack. Just 46 percent of Iowa Republicans say they have a favorable view of him, compared to 17 percent who hold an unfavorably view. Despite frequent trips to the state in recent months, he is still not well known to many Republicans: 37 percent still say they are unsure of what they think of Cruz.

Cruz is tied with another Senate Republican: Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, who is also viewed favorably by just 46 percent of Iowa Republicans. 15 percent say they view him unfavorably. Rubio’s role in crafting a comprehensive immigration reform bill in the Senate earlier this year has been cited as a mark against him by some Iowa Republicans.

Here’s what Ted Cruz should do about Iowa:

First, nothing. For the next eleven months, he should spend as much time as possible campaigning for Conservative candidates running in next year’s elections. Those whom he helps to elect will support him both in Congress and in the 2016 presidential primaries.

After next November, he should begin campaigning in Iowa, including making it clear in a reasonable, polite way that he does NOT support the use of ethanol in gasoline.

Iowa corn farmers would turn against him for that, of course, but others in the state and around the country would admire his courage. And, if he loses the Iowa caucuses, it won’t mean anything, since opposing ethanol is considered a loser in Iowa, but if he does reasonably well there in spite of being anti-ethanol, it would be considered a victory.

Because of Ted Cruz and his courage in leading a government shutdown to defund ObamaCare, for the first time in decades it’s not completely delusional to believe a potential Republican presidential candidate exists who is courageous enough to take on the Iowa ethanol interests and to not only survive but prevail over his frightened, business-as-usual opponents.

There was a big story in USAToday talking about how effective Hillary was in getting DiBlasio and McAwful elected last month.

Having said that, though, she was “inevitable” in Jan 2008 also. The important part is to watch where Axlegrease, Gibbs, and Plouffy wind up.

Since McCain and Romney both LOST, were votes for them wasted, especially R votes out of CA and NY??

That’s what I mean.

If Axlegrease, Gibbs, and Plouffy show up in another camp, watch out Hillary.

These guys re-elected a POTUS with 8% unemployment, $4 gas, surging food prices, and trillion dollar deficits forever.

Something I said would be impossible.

Yep. Iowa was one of 10 states which Dukakis carried in Bush I’s 40 state sweep in 1988.

Of course, Paul Ryan balances the budget in 10 years while cutting taxes and ‘protecting’ medicare. No pain all gain.

And he's so agreeable like a puppy dog. Look at that smile.

LOLO

Until the full effects of ObamaCare are felt in the economy, the effects of the Fed’s continued manipulation of our currency, the government’s continued debt accumulation, in essence if exponential math finally says ENOUGH of this crap before 2016, IMHO we don’t yet know who will be the nominees....probably the best liars though.

“That’s right, by God. Let’s trash talk any Conservative who isn’t perfect........”

And what other purpose do these interweb boards serve, may I honestly ask?

GW Bush, Scott Brown, Marco Rubio, Chris Christie, Paul Ryan come immediately to mind.

Lizzy Warren is one, although currently she says she’s not running.

But remember in 2007 NOBODY knew who Baraq Obama was.

A lot will depend on whether the Chicago mob thinks the Clintons can properly carry on the Baraqqi regime onslaught.

He was the only reason I voted for Romney. Now after all his floundering, waffling and capiticulation, I can’t in my right mind vote for him

No, only in states where they might have won, had the LICs gone to the polls.

In every case, they could have helped down ticket as well.

Yeah in 2007 Baraq Obama was about as well known as the mayor of Kokomo, Indiana.

I think the real key for 2016 is who the Chicago mob lines up with.
