Posted on 12/17/2013 2:41:59 AM PST by sneakers
Quinn and Rose are off the air, (temporarily, I hope!) Gone, but DEFINITELY not forgotten! Meanwhile, our friendly group of dedicated FReeper Q&R fans will meet in our usual spot - same time, same station - as we always have!
So grab your coffee - or whatever you choose to start your day - and drop in for some political chit-chat, or just to shoot the breeze! We are all coming from - or going to - work, but we all stop in to say hi! Feel free to join us!
There was a coyote in the parking lot when I left work this morning. I hung around to make sure thr traffic gal got in. The coyote was still skulking around.
Sorry to say that I have not heard Quinn & Rose. My listening is pretty much with Rush and Savage.
I will check them out. Even though I am 10 hours from CST, I can use my www.DAR.fm to record the program on a daily basis.
Well, actually the show was cancelled four weeks ago. Their fans are furious! We’re hoping they’re back on the air by the end of next year. Meanwhile, they posted their Christmas show on their website at www.warroom.com
It’s in segments just as if it was on the radio. Mr S and I listened to it last night while I was baking cookies. It’s become an annual Christmas tradition.
Good morning n’@!
Was thinking of you yesterday :) was at Westmoreland Mall and went to Macy’s...walked passed their dressie dress dept. FOUND (I have to wear a skirt so I can try on—hope to go back Wednesday) for son’s wedding this coming November. W/the regular clearance discount plus Christmas sale it should be about $90!!! Yeah Macy’s sale rack!!! It’s navy blue (so shoes/purse won’t be hard to match).
Now to NOT eat food & lose weight between now (ha!) and then...
Good morning! Like Sneakers said...they are off air right now...but hoping they are back on (even on the internet!) real soon!
Where was the parking lot?
I had a 8-point buck laying down in my back yard this am - in Mt. Washington.
OMG!!! I LOVE Macy’s! Got my dress for son’s wedding for $65 off the markdown rack! Can’t remember the original price, but it was well over $100. Marked down, plus the 20% discount!
I loved being the mother of the groom. WAAAAAAYYYYYY less stress! My big part was lighting the “unity candle”, dancing with son at the mom/son dance and baking cookies. No stress like the mother and grandmom of the bride! You’ve been there done that!
I can’t believe how many deer show up in Pittsburgh!! Went to visit son and wife in Lawrenceville, and a deer ran in front of us - on Butler street! Almost hit the darned thing!
We live in Indiana County and the deer are out of control here. Dead deer along the road wherever you go.
Man! Sounds like Allegheny county has turned into a wildlife park!!! Bucks, coyotes...... Better take a hunting rifle when venturing there! lol!
Thanks for the info...As you know, I am on the other side of the world. It is also why I am such a fan of DAR.fm.
I can get any program and play it when I like.
I really want everyone to check it out...Disclaimer: I get no
discounts or anything else for promoting him. I just pray that he has enough subscribers to stay in business..
Check out, www.dar.fm
Thanks for the tip AlexW!
Mmmmmmmm! We had pork and sauerkraut for dinner last night. Homemade sauerkraut and pork with onions and caraway in the crockpot all day. Smelled so good when we got home and walked in the door last night! Greg, if you haven’t made homemade sauerkraut you should try it. So easy! We got 50 lbs of kraut cabbage at Pikes Peak nursery last fall for $10.00. Made a lot of kraut. We’re good for the year!
Thanks give me info on making it..we can save the $2ish bag and it would be better. We got hot sausage to put in but the wife will use that for another meal..money is tight here..used all of it to get that Jeep...
“Good Morning, WKRP in Cincinnati....
No, sir. We are off the air.
Now how can we make an announcement that
we are off the air?”
Off Greentree Rd going into the West End near Parkway Center.
I got a food-grade plastic bucket from Giant Eagle bakery (5 gal bucket) w/lid.
Make sure the bucket is really clean.
Get a mandolin (shredder). I measure 5 lbs of shredded cabbage into the bucket. Add 3 tbls CANNING salt - NOT TABLE SALT!- for every five lbs of shredded cabbage. Begin mixing the cabbage and salt. It will start to get juicy as the salt draws out the liquid from the cabbage. You can pound down the cabbage and it will compact and juice rise to cover the cabbage. Get a glass or ceramic plate and put on top of the cabbage*. The cabbage should be under juice and not exposed to air. Weigh down the plate with a glass jar filled with water. Cover the top of the bucket with cheese cloth or a clean dish cloth as it will attract bugs. As long as the cabbage stays below the brine you won’t smell anything. A moldy looking scum may form around the plate on top of the brine. That’s ok, just skim it off.
Let the cabbage ferment for four to 8 weeks, depending on how sour you want it. It also depends on how warm or cold it is. I put it in a corner of my dining room where it is relatively dark and cool. At the end of it’s fermentation time, you can put it in jars and process in a water bath canner.
*You can also use a large ziploc bag with homemade brine in it to place on top of the cabbage. Just make sure air does not get to the fermenting cabbage.
93.7 fired some on air talent and rumors have on FB that 104.7 is going sports via ...mmmmmmm..thanks for the recipe
Yep. Vinnie Rechichi and Paul Alexander both out at 93.7
(maybe they can team up with Bloomdaddy and Dr. James Winer for a Morning Drive Dream Team??)
Went to DAR.fm and bookmarked it. Once cookie-baking is done, I’ll be fooling around with it!
Thanks again for the link!
“Went to DAR.fm and bookmarked it.”
OK....just woke up here, 7 AM Wednesday, and listening to
I failed to mention a few other features. One, the programs are broken into blocks of about 14 min. which make it easy to
come and go during the program. You can stop and go as you like. Also, you can fast forward through breaks and commercials.
