I applaud Sen Sessions' attempt to stop this egregious assault on our retired veterans and currently serving men and women in uniform.

Sadly, it will most likely fail. Reid will probably not even allow a vote on the amendment, specifically because it would turn the magnifying lens onto the Billions that illegal aliens are scamming from the taxpayers.

Over $4 Billion per year is stolen from the US by illegal aliens who use this loophole.

IRS Refunds $4 Billion Child Tax Credits Per Year to Illegal Immigrants Whose Kids Do Not Live in US

The provision to steal retired military Cost of Living will cost them an estimated 20% of their retirement, but will only save $6 Billion over ten years!

Shame on Paul Ryan for engineering this injustice. Shame on Boehner for even allowing the House to vote on it. And Shame on every single DC prostitute who votes against our veterans. They have already sacrificed enough - it is time those who do nothing but TAKE from our nation are forced to be cut....but not our military.

RE :”Alabama GOP Sen. Jeff Sessions filed an amendment late Monday to restore money that was cut from veteran and military retiree pension benefits by closing a loophole that allows illegal immigrants to qualify for child tax credits.”

Not bad! I assume that Reid will ignore it.

Is this a case of voting on a bill to find out what it contains, then going oops.... my bad?

So the Rats will give back some of the cuts in exchange to tax increases on the “Rich”. The GOP will claim victory and vote for what’s probably the worst budget ever pulled out of the House’s butt.

Senator Sessions impresses me more each day. Why didn't the conservatives in the HOR catch this outrage? (Oh yeah, they didn't take enough time to read the bill). Ryan's idea of "compromise" is to subsidize invader spawn with money taken from veterans and their families.

Whatta' guy.

If they don’t fix this it will break any trust between the military and the Republican congress, who would be breaking a promise. Not even the Democrats have done that until now, and no one with any sense trusts the dems.

Not good for recruiting, to say the least. And perhaps permanent.

Ryan is acting like a complete and utter dope, not to mention, sleazebag.

This is awful

So, let me get this straight:

The RINO's in the House passed a budget bill that slashes military pensions.

The bill goes to the Senate, where the RINO's stage a "last-ditch principled stand" to "support the troops".

And they do it by trying to tie it in with taking away free sh!t from illegal aliens??

So, the Senate RINO's make it a "poison pill", guaranteeing the amendment will get shot down by the Leftists, but hey, "our intentions were good, that'll fool the teabaggers".

This is probably not the type thread we typically see on the 'Aliens' ping list; but it definitely qualifies. Here's another example of the U.S. bowing to pressure from the powerful amnesty/illegal alien lobby at the expense of American citizens.

Our Veterans and currently serving Military know the (democ)rats hate them. This is why in overwhelming numbers they vote for anyone other than rats. This is also why rats do everything in their power to not honor our Veterans and currently serving Military votes. But everyone knew what I typed ... so this post is worthless.

Ryan has turned into one of those more willing to get along than to stand by his principles. It’s obvious he’s going for the middle of the road voter and is turning into a RINO.

The Republican primary this coming year is one of the most important primaries in our history. This is the one that will determine the course of our country for the next decade. It will lay the groundwork for the 2016 and 2020 Presidential elections. If conservatives value the constitution, we really must fight and not listen to those who are now pretending to be conservative just to stay in office. Not only is our country at stake, but the lives and future of our children and grandchildren will be forever affected by how this 2014 election turns out. And the primary is trigger and the target for setting the direction for how that will happen.

Those who spent 20 to 30 years in uniform knew they could have made less on the outside. Yet they continued to serve BELIEVEING they would get a good retirement with still time left for a second career. Now the government they served is pulling the rug out from under them.

Nope, veterans are just greedy whiners getting a “full pension” for “retiring” after 20 years. They should either wait until they’re 62 or older to get their “full pension” payments or not go out and find another job to supplement that “full pension”, veterans are just being greedy. Veterans deserve to have any COLA adjustments reduced...they’ve earned that reduction. BOHICOLA.

Veterans didn’t earn the “full pension” they’re getting and should sacrifice for the common good...they should only get a “full pension” if they saw combat or were wounded...the rest of the servicemembers should be grateful for having had the opportunity to serve our country and move on with their lives without any compensation or benefits for time served...

Wear your wounds and ailments as a badge of honor, but don’t bother us for medical care or treatment of your chemical sensitivities, loss of hearing, bad back, torn ligaments, etc. that came as a result of serving. Consider it a small price to pay for having had the priviledge of wearing the uniform.

Everyone should have skin in the game and veterans should be the first to sign/line up for getting shaved...the rest of the leeches will come later, trust me.

/s (but this is an example of the types of tripe that has been posted on other threads.)

This thread seems the most appropriate place for my post.

I was at the VA yesterday and my doc said that there is a New Deal for vets under obamacare. I can now visit a local doctor and the VA will pick up the tab (no more long distance drives). The hook is, once you opt for a non-VA doc, you can’t use the VA anymore.

Decisions, decisions. :-)

There’s a Loophole That Allows Illegal Immigrants to Claim Tax Credits, and a GOP Sen. Just Made a Big Move to Close It to Save Vet Benefits

The ranking Republican on the Senate Budget Committee has put forward a budget amendment to avert proposed cuts to veterans’ benefits by closing a loophole that allows illegal immigrants to collect child tax credits.

If this passes the Senate with GOP support. It is time........for a new Party.

Take 50 of those 90 Repubs in the senate that stood firm and maybe 10 Senators and FORM A NEW PARTY INSTANTLY.

As a veteran I don’t mind paying more as long as it is efficiently used....not to pay more damn money to illegal aliens and certainly not for some TEN YEAR PLAN that only reduces 23 billion MAYBE.
