They named a school in FLORIDA for Ku Klux Bobby Byrd?
I wonder if that African king was a slave owner? Or, for that matter, was he involved with the slave trade?
The slave trade in Africa is alive and well to this day. And it’s of the worst kind. Sex slaves, child slaves, etc.
Nathan Bedford Forrest, raised two armies, developed tactics that are still taught at West Point, and was the only Private on either side of the Civil War to rise to the rank of General.
After the Civil War was over, General Robert E. Lee was asked who his best General was. General Lee replied: “The man I never met, General Nathan Bedford Forrest.
You can also thank Forrest for not extending the war a couple more years. A lot of his men didn’t want to surrender. Forrest told them go home, take care of their families and hold their head high. They would have followed him to hell and back. He was the greatest general of the war, both north and south. The stories about him slapping the hell out of Bragg were true. He threatened to kill him as he was walking out the door. Deo Vindice.
won’t do much to change jacksonville decline
it’s always outsiders that stir crap up
i recall the students rejected this just a few years ago
They just need to find a more politically-correct person named Forrest.
In 2005, King County (Seattle) Washington, re-purposed itself as being named after Martin Luther King.
I kid you not:

And, to our everlasting shame, a former black panther turned county councilmoron louis gossett pushed it through. Even then the attitude by the promoters was, “Why would you be opposed to this? Are you racist?”
