One Christmas display in Newton has pitted neighbor against neighbor.
The home glows with holiday cheer in one Newton neighborhood: Santa, snowmen, baby Jesus in a manger. For the Hunter family it's an electric display of the Christmas spirit, but someone sent them a letter saying otherwise.
Not everybody in the neighborhood is Christian and many people do not wish to see such a flagrant display of your beliefs, said Kelly Hunter, received complaint.
The letter was signed only "your neighbors." The person who wrote it complained that the trimmings are tacky.

‘Tis the Season without Reason, for some.
My God, now they are going after “Tacky”.
Is there no end to it?
Ok, just tell them it’s Kitsch.
First they said they just want the religious displays out of the public square because it is unconstitutional, and that it fine to have it in your yard.
Now they want it out of your yard.
Unless you can show me where I’m violating a law the I’ll do what I want on my own land and you can do the same.
20 foot tall wisemen, etc.
Apparently these nitwits fail to understand "their home" end at their property line.
They need more and brighter lights.
I hope that this family is able to enjoy the Christmas season despite this. What a shame that some today are motivated by such hostility.
Atheists are nasty people.
They never should have published or acknowledged the letter. Then the offending neighbor would wonder if they ever got the letter. That’s how I would have handled it. Never let anyone get under your skin - (my boss hates me) ... snicker ...
I hate to label people but my experience debating atheists on the web is they are indeed a nasty bunch.
I wonder if these jackwads go after Ramadan and Kwanzaa too?
My experience as well. And extremely condescending.
Every nativity I see displayed on a lawn?
I go back with a Christmas card and put it in their door. I thank them for the display. Tell them how good it is to see it. Wish them a Merry Christmas.
There is nothing in the constitution that protects the right not to be offended.
If you want to know how I really feel freepmail me, and I'll tell you.
>>My experience as well. And extremely condescending.<<
The good news is that when they leave this mortal coil, they will return to the dust since they discarded their souls.
