A final effort by Senate Republicans to halt cuts to pensions of military retirees failed late Tuesday, after Democrats blocked an amendment to the controversial budget bill.

The two-year budget agreement, which cleared a key test vote earlier in the day, was expected to get a final vote no later than Wednesday.

Ahead of the final vote, Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., tried unsuccessfully to use a parliamentary tactic to force a vote on the amendment, which he wrote to undo the cuts for military retirees.

A provision in the already House-passed bill would cut retirement benefits for military retirees by $6 billion over 10 years....

I hear you, but it’s more than that. The instant anyone mentions touching SS benefits, the Dems start screeching. We don’t have that kind of response to anything the Dems ever propose. We’re too civilized. And that’s why we continue to lose.

I used to say that only in Washington DC would an INCREASE of 2% be called a DECREASE because the INCREASE, by some calculations, “could have been” 3%.

The Democrats have used that rope-a-dope lie to their advantage for YEARS.

NOW, I see the Democrats are trying to use this same lie to split the Tea Party and our veterans away from the Republican party. They say, “Stay home!” “Punish the GOP!”

But I say,

“Let’s not believe “progressive” lies ... just because our media “reports” those lies as news.”

Thank you Patty Murray...
May the veterans and Washington Voters remember another example of your stupidity.

Senate GOP fails in final bid to restore military pension cuts to budget bill.. HUH?

I’m not a copy editor, or headline writer, but I can think of a hundred different ways to word it..

DEMOCRATS CUT DISABLED VETS BENEFITS, over GOP OBJECTIONS..

DEMOCRATS CONTINUE WAR AGAINST MILITARY, INCLUDING DISABLED VETERANS..

That’s closer to how Matt Drudge had it listed at his site.

We should insist on cutting the retirement of ALL reps and senators ten percent for every one percent congress cuts the military retirement. Retroactive to all congress critters. The very old goats will scream to high heaven!

Isn’t it funny how the dims can control the gop when the gop control the Senate? They even had old trent corruptalott wanting to share power equally when the republicans held a one seat majority. Remember when jeffords jumped ship and handed the dims power? dims never squander even the thinnest of majorities. Our side does not seem to know how to govern... they just follow.

The GOP does not control the Senate We have only 46 seats while the rats have 54. Everyone knows Jeffords always voted with the liberals and was a genuine RINO. It was good riddance when he finally went over to them.

The rats are holding together but pushing division on our site. Unfortunately many of our site falling for it

I am sorry Kaslin but boehner... the gop/e leader in the House... has divided us by attacking those that stand and fight for us. I read of much the same from mcconnell. Cruz and Lee were viciously attacked for standing for the exact principles that they ran upon and for daring to challenge the "good old boy network" in the Senate.

Newt was on with Sean Tuesday and he said that the big money donors for the gop/e hate us... hate the working man and woman that calls themselves “Conservative” and that boehner’s outburst was all about gaining credibility with those multimillionaires and billionaires that are now funding the gop/e.

The head of the US Chamber of Commerce is a big donor to the gop/e and he was on with Cavuto last Friday and said point blank, "obamacare is the law... it can NEVER be gotten rid of... we need to accept it and help fix it". He claims to be a Conservative but this is the true face of the elite that hates us. They are all about corporate profits, whoring the American worker and importing mexicans for cheap labor... workers that they do not have to supply benefits for under this permanent "law of the land".

ALL of the smaller donors like myself have cut them off... the leadership of the gop are solely owned by the elite of the elite. How am I falling for a democrat trap when the leadership of the gop and all of their donors wish that we all would just go away... shut up... or die?

Disgusting! Let's not forget that they vote themselves pay raises and exempt themselves from whatever they inflict on us.
