Seriously, what’s a legitimate purpose for wanting to retrieve a useless plane? Why not just let it stay where it is? What happens in OTHER cases with normal, everyday people who ditch a small plane in the ocean? Why would the federal govt pay good money to retrieve a useless small plane

To determine if there is a flaw in the design of the engine, bad repair parts (there are a lot of non TSO parts that are sold as TSO, fuel contamination etc. or perhaps improper maintenance. This is important to prevent future failures with this engine if this was the cause of the crash.

I put nothing beyond Obama, but this seems to be a straight up accident due to engine failure due to at this time unknown causes.

Thank you for your response. I just saw where they’ve retrieved the engine, so maybe we’ll know more soon.
