Record High in U.S. Say Big Government Greatest Threat
Now 72% say it is greater threat than big business or big labor
PRINCETON, NJ -- Seventy-two percent of Americans say big government is a greater threat to the U.S. in the future than is big business or big labor, a record high in the nearly 50-year history of this question. The prior high for big government was 65% in 1999 and 2000. Big government has always topped big business and big labor, including in the initial asking in 1965, but just 35% named it at that time.

Big labor, business, pharma, etc. ad infintum become threats due to legislation. It’s interesting that many on the left and some on the right are looking for big government to “fix” those problems thru legislation and regulation which only ensures that the the survivors will be even bigger and the little guys will be forced out. Sort of counter-productive.
The real threat is when Big Government, Big Business, and Big Labor team up. Public-Private partnership, Fascism, Communism, Authoritarianism, Globalism, call it what you want, its all the same Tyranny.
Where have you gone Joe DiMaggio Ronald Reagan?
I agree.
It’s a machine that is more like the “Blob”.
An honest assessment of the current situation, and how to effectively limit/reduce the size of our government, would conclude with the realization of nothing short of revolution.
I’m not suggesting that the only way to make these changes is a Civil War, but something extraordinary needs to happen in order to stop this beast.
The only thing Republicans/Tea Party Reps can do, is to slow it down.
If youve not noticed...the republicans are part of the problem
I’m very well aware.
Thanks for playing.
This is big time propaganda, designed to bailout big business and labor that use government to exploit. All THREE work together.

Yes
We know this and a greater number of causal voters are becoming more and more aware of this.
Ever heard of a Cyber Revolution before...?
I think that is what we are experiencing now..
some on the Right don’t know how to handle the tools well tho..
they just need some education and guidance..and votes.
While I don’t agree with everything in this documentary, there is an awful lot of truth regarding the behind the scenes deals with lobbyists.

I’ve had any number of ideas on how to use the technology available to undermine the positions and ideas of the left.
It really shouldn’t be that difficult.
We do however, need an army of like minded that can subvert the left with coordinated tactics.
Big business will exploit every possibility available in order to grow and protect their business.
If that includes making deals with the Government, well, they will do it because they can.
I trust small business over big business and big business over Government.
When it comes to winning elections, it seems as through the Tea Party is the only group that is willing to represent the individual.
Big Media and Big Education should be choices too.
Wait...I didn’t win anything? lol
Big Media and Big Education should be choices too.
yes.
and the EPA and the countless regulations that people need to start their own business.
Most of the regulations to start a business pretend to be in the public’s best interest, but are actually designed to limit competition.
Seems like a good political approach. If people were outraged at Bloomies large soda ban, let them see the true extent of government intrusion into their lives. Concrete plans to reduce the impact and cost of regulations should influence some people - those who are not directly involved or profiting from it. Every time you say cut the reach and scope of government there are large numbers of people saying, “Hands off my job.”
Concrete plans, as a political message, are NOT LIKELY to work.
It’s a “concept” campaign message. Much like “Hope & Change”.
Let the voters decide what it means.
This of course is just what it will take to get elected.
That’s the first step.
Newt did pretty well when he said just what he wanted to do.
