Pajama Boy is more of a symptom than a cause there IMO.

I don’t know how old the photo is, I just image Googled “Joint Chiefs of Staff” and then began looking for pictures that I could drop Pajama Boy into. Honestly, I could not name a single person at the table.
I actually flipped the image initially so that the Marines were facing the same way as Pajama Boy. In my zeal I failed to consider that the names on the uniforms would be backwards. Oh well...

I used to work there. If I put my thinking cap on I could probably name everybody. I worked for General Vessey in Korea (for his subordinate three-star at I Corps) before he became Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Amazing story. He went from being a private in the Minnesota Army National Guard in 1940 to the highest ranking man in the whole US military. He’s the Army general near the rear on the right side who’s not wearing glasses.
From 1983. I recognized a few faces from my navy days.
