I'm tired of people getting in trouble for expressing their opinions, popular or not. A person should say what they believe, and we should support their right to say it, whether we disagree or not. This is America. Then again, I don't own a company that depends on revenue generated by quirky Louisiana duck hunters, who look like ZZ Top and believe homosexuality is wrong and Southern blacks were a lot happier back in the good old days.

It is the attempt of one group to punish and silence another for daring to have a different opinion. Sounds an awful lot like a free speech issue to me.
Alot of people felt differently around here when it was tbe Dixie Chicks. But in this case the DD will come out on top.
One list things on TV that are offensive to traditional Americans...
And the other list of things offensive to elite liberals... how would that look??
Elite liberals have FOXNews on their list and this ONE issue.
Traditional Americans have all the networks, newspapers except one, and 99% of movies and TV shows.
Conservatives are told to 'change the channel' if they don't like the "F" word used for laughs, if they don't like shows with two moms for their kids... Or told they're provincial if they object to God's name being taken in vain or sit-coms filled with teen sex and young people living together... We can't even object to the endless shows where conservatives are made out to be stupid and evil...
Once again, liberal elites are closed minded bullies...and oh so offended if anyone gives them the smallest taste of their own medicine.
.... This whole thing is quite simple really .... Basically .... A man was terminated from his job because of his religious beliefs. They should take it from there.
I would like DD to be on a network that didnt feel the need to try to paint good folks as vulgar.

There are tons of info regarding the details of the show “Duck Dynasty” that
we don’t know. Who owns the show, contractual agreements, copyrights to name, etc.,
payments, number of shows per season, script approval, etc and many more.
That said if A&E can’t convince the Robertsons to stay onboard then they are
mostly going to be left with nothing but reruns, some stage props and a
name for marketing, but of what?
The Robertsons may be able to market themselves to another network for some type
spinoff depending upon their A&E contract. Who knows at this stage what is even
possible until the details are sorted out and the entities sit down and discuss
the potential for resolution.
Phil personally has been under no illusion as the life of the show. I read a quote
about him talking of a few years or so at best and it would be gone. I think used four
or five years. So who knows what his thinking was/is at this stage.
I think the difference in the Dixie Chicks situation is that the public punished them for their public remarks that they (the public) found obnoxious.
A & E, as the employer of Phil Robinson, punished Phil Robertson for expressing his religious beliefs publicly.
As a former La Tech alumni I knew who he was years ago not only as a football star but as a hunter evangelist. He would say he could always find a way to take people hunting and somehow connect ducks and Jesus. Phil has been at this a long long time and he won’t be cowed by A&E.
“Southern blacks were a lot happier back in the good old days.”
prove it. Prove any of the the Robertsons said this. I call bullshit
I think we got one with mother issues! LOL!
The Left cannot trash the 1st Amendment in one fell swoop, so instead it marginalizes speech incrementally through its loyal agents well dispersed throughout the fabric of the Country.
It is not a freedom of speech issue. A and E has just as much a right to edit their own programming as Phil does to voice his opinion about gays.
A&E is clueless to that culture. They insulted daddy. The rest of the family would never betray daddy.
It's probably more of a contract law issue. I'm sure A&E has a contact with these folks, and it'll come down to what clauses are in it (if any) which might cover the cast's outside activities.
>> It is not a freedom of speech issue.
Like Hell it isn’t.
They fired him for speaking the truth. May not be suppression, but it sure is stupid.
Phil can say what he wants, A&E don’t have to agree with it OR put it on the air.
don’t=doesn’t
