The Governor and State Legislature, the true representatives of the people, should tell that Judge to go jump in a lake and refuse to abide by his ruling. What can this Judge do? The Legislature could remove him or defund his court.

The NM legislature is and has been controlled by the Democrats for many decades. Occasionally we get a Republican governor (like Susana Martinez who disagrees with the decision) or a Libertarian (like Gary Johnson who agrees with it).
