@AETV just advertised the "#DuckDynasty Quackback Marathon" airing tomorrow. Uh, good luck editing Phil Robertson out. He's in every episode
It looks like A&E wont have to deal with the pesky business of editing out Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson. After suspending the star for his response to a GQ question about sin, A&E went on to air episodes of the hit series last night.
LOL! I mentioned to my wife this morning that the duckathon was coming up and wondered how much OT they’d be paying to have Mr. Phil Robertson edited out of all the episodes. Maybe Phil should demand they not show him if he’s on indefinite suspension. Fairs fair. So, does A&E stand for A$$holes&Elitists?
Maybe they have already signed Pajama Boy to a replacement series.
“Deep Thoughts with PajamaBoy”
You can DVR all these episodes whether you will watch them or not.... This will show up in the ratings and support Duck Dynasty. Only the gays are pissed off at the direct references to their filthy proclivities (as in the Hershey highway)
LOL Deep something anyhow.
I really hope that people actually honored their commitment on pages like https://www.facebook.com/Philrobertsonsupport and actually didn’t watch the Duck Dynasty marathon this evening, and will refrain from watching A&E.
With 1.3 million likes, I’ve got to imagine that impacted the audience size, but I can also see a lot of people tuning in to see what all the hoopla is about, and still more watching in a misguided attempt to support Phil by watching the shows which he’s in.
Might it not be better if the shows got the highest rating now, after the “controversy”?
Just as buying Duck Dynasty logo’d material would also reward A&E, vs buying Duck Commander and Buck Commander merchandise which wouldn't benefit A&E.
That said, if I was an advertiser with A&E, and saw 1.3 million people claiming they'd boycott the network, my eyes wouldn't be on the Duck Dynasty ratings, but on the rest of the network's shows.
Absolutely not!! The ONLY thing the network is interested in is ratings. A total boycott of A%E would be the best. They may lose the whole family. These people are serious about their faith.
close to buying some Phil gear but who am I supporting?...don’t want for AE to gain another penny....
“close to buying some Phil gear but who am I supporting?...dont want for AE to gain another penny”
LOL I got my Brotherinlaw a Duck call Phil’s devotional a Duck Commander T-Shirt and an Uncle Si cup for Christmas.
QUESTION: If I am not connected to a Neilson rating box (or whatever they use now) does what I watch or not watch on cable actually get reflected anywhere? Not saying it doesn’t, I’d just like to know...
Buy from duckcommander.com. That’s their business site and doesn’t give A&E money.
The only way it will impact the ratings is that 1.3 million people have the Nielsen Box. If not, it is mute and does not matter a bit.

You could watch Duck Dynasty 24 hours a day, seven days a week and it would not affect the ratings a bit. You could quit Duck Dynasty for the rest of your life and it will not affect the ratings one bit. Only a small amount of people really say what we watch. I think in this day and age they could put something into the boxes to ensure an accurate number. Currently all the numbers are statistics and guesses. It really is a stupid system.
“If not, it is mute and does not matter a bit.”
The word you are looking for is “moot.”
Very bold how do you know I would give you thanks .JK. I do thank you.
What really has to happen is for people to cancel their cable TV. Imagine what would happen to all those shows if there really was no one watching. Cable is dropping, especially with the young folks. Get we oldsters mad and we cancel our cable - whoa, dude - that would shake up the media industry!!
That would really send a message
KK <—— Free from cable since 2012
So much for the argument that Robertson is causing advertisers to leave...
